STEEMCHURCH: NEVER LOSE THE FIRST LOVE

Suddenly, as time passes, that love is diluted and becoming routine, there is no time to love, feelings are rationalized, criticisms begin to appear, and I do not live intensely that love, in other words, it has frozen. Now things are done, the appearance of living that love is maintained, you have to take care of what they will say, you make the sacrifice of having a good time, even for a brief moment. It seems that problems, routine, conformism, disinterest, infidelity, are killing that first expression of true love. In the book of Proverbs it is said that love will cover all faults (10:12), the apostle Paul in his letter to the Romans tells us that love should be without pretense (12: 9), and also in the first book to the Corinthians, in chapter thirteen, reference is made to sublime love. How many marriages exist, but without first love!

I do not know if at some point you have stopped to meditate and think that your relationship with God is very similar to that of a courtship or marriage. No matter how many years you have been married (in this case serving God), it is necessary to cultivate the relationship. And so that love does not get lost or diminished, we have to feed it with details. But not only the details are sufficient, communication is also very necessary so there are no gaps.

Yesterday I spoke with two of my students in the church and explained to them the fact that how they would feel God's need, if they did not even take the time to talk to him. If other things took their place and were more important than the need to talk to him, find him and tell him the things they were going through. Because precisely in everyday life, in the middle of that time that you share and establish a bond with the beloved, that is where the need to find and be with him comes from.

Sometimes in marriages there is a crisis because one of the parties distances itself too much. In this case, God never distances himself from his children because he loves them, however, it is we who often lose focus and give priority to other things. Then our love dries up like a little plant. You begin to feel no desire to pray, read his word, go to church or do the things you used to do with such passion. It no longer causes you pleasure to do things for him.

You forget that one day, when you decided to give your heart to God, you made a covenant of fidelity and of staying in good and bad times at his side. It is assumed that there is no "divorce" between you and God. But rather that you look for the way to return to fall in love and to fall in love with him. Have you forgotten to say nice phrases in your ear? What happened to your time, is there no space in your agenda to go walking with him, or sit quietly to tell you the things that happen to you during the day?

The saddest thing is that when you allow your relationship with God to deteriorate, when you say that you love him from the mouth to the outside, but your facts prove otherwise, you hurt him, you hurt him, you make him cry for you. In this relationship, he has not done anything wrong. Then why distance yourself?

There are others who will present as an excuse, what some husbands and wives say to silence their guilt or leave their quiet consciences for a while: "I have a lot of work, my love, I do all this for you and the children, I am sacrificing myself so that you do not lack anything and you have everything you want, that is why we must sacrifice time together, that is why I work so much ". But it is not enough, it is not enough for you to wrap yourself doing things for the glory of God, if you lose your relationship with the most wonderful being, with the one who gives you strength and helps you stay focused on the purpose of everything is that have a strong relationship with him before anything else.

Today is a good day to renew your wedding vows with God. To remember that moment when you gave your yes for the first time and your life began to change. Today you can start to fall in love like that time when you felt your heart beating and you could not spend much time without knowing that he was close to you.
