Good morning Steemians, the last time we talked about MAN's OBLIGATION TO GOD, you can read it up HERE. Today, we will be looking at a very interesting and life awakening topic;

"HELPFUL HINTS FOR A HAPPY MARRIAGE"

Proverbs 31: 10-31

Now who doesn't want a peaceful, sweet, good and loving marriage? I am pretty sure we all need that, now if you want a happy marriage, there are TWO THINGS you must always keep in mind:

1) Never demean your mate in public:When you do that, you demean yourself too. King Solomon writes, "Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts her... She does him good... All the days of her life" (vs 10-12 kjv). I can remember a friend of mine saying "before you critique a friend's taste, pause for a while and remember they chose you!" The fact is we all have habits or attitudes so to say, struggles, weaknesses, fantasies, childhood memories, unspoken needs and longings hidden deep inside. Our yearning for someone to trust is profound and unchanging. That's why God designed marriage to be a safe Haven in a dangerous world. If you can't trust your mate then who can you trust?

2) Always have shared dreams and goals:It is statistically analyzed today that couples divorcing between the seventeenth and twenty fifth year of marriage is at an alarming high rate. Do you know why this is so? It is so because that is usually when the last child graduates from high school or college and leaves home. Now there's just the two of you and when you have spent all your time focusing on your kids and neglecting one another, you can wake up one day and feel like you are living with a stranger. So how do you avoid that? By having life time goals and dreams you are both working towards. Remember you are more than parents, you are individuals and God has a plan for your lives as a couple. If you haven't discovered it yet, talk about it, then pray together and ask God to reveal it to you. That's a prayer he will answer!
