Purposes of crucifixion, atonement and abundant life

Text: Isaiah 53.1-12
This text mentions the best known prophecy of the crucifixion in the Bible, and both Matthew (MT 8.17) and Peter (1P 2.24) quote it Eight centuries before Christ, Isaiah referred in an incredibly accurate way to the facts of the crucifixion; but more importantly, he spoke of the purpose of the cross

Christ charged more than our sins in their suffering and death, the wages of sin is death, but Christ did not have to suffer as He did to atone for our sins
This chapter tells us about the reason for his suffering: he suffered to bring our pains and illnesses to offer us peace and healing

Certainly the atonement of our sins is our greatest need, but God, in sending his son to suffer and die, provided more than a way to escape judgment: He provided the immediate beginning of an abundant life

(John: 10.10)
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy, I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it in abundance"
Jesus showed himself as a "dry root": he expresses the obscurity of the origin of the messiah, or beauty, without attraction ... so that we wish him: he laments his death, the judgment and the crucifixion of Christ were something that nobody would wish
"Experienced in brokenness": to be our perfect high priest, Christ Jesus had to personally suffer our pain
"He brought our diseases": this verb means "to take upon oneself", or "to bear a burden", an obvious reference to the vicarious suffering of Christ
"our pains": these words refer to illnesses, both spiritual and physical
"wounded of God": the suffering of the servant is part of God's plan of salvation
"He did not open his mouth": proclamation of the complete submission of the servant, the evangelist Philip read this verse to the Ethiopian eunuch, and led him to Christ

Atonement for sin: the death of Christ on the cross constituted an infinite vicarious offering, the only one that could atone for the sins of humanity

Sort:

The only person able to save humanity from eternal death was and is Jesus Christ, the crucifixion on the cross provided the center of Christian life by the sacrifice of Christ to die for the sin of all the people, we know that Jesus did not deserve the curse of God, but it was our own curse that he was carrying on the cross, and it is for this reason that the remembrance of God's love expressed on the cross constrains us to live daily for Christ.
