The Discipline To Be Committed To A Course

I would love to do a brief breakdown of the topic.

What is Discipline?

Discipline is a control gained by enforcing obedience or order. It is also an orderly or prescribed conduct or pattern of behavior. Discipline is a controlled behavior that results from a training. Discipline is an activity that provides mental or physical training.

Please it would be so important if we not only read but also have some key words written down.

Discipline brings stability and structure into a person's life. It teaches a person to be responsible and respectful.

A person who is committed to a course is a disciplined person. If a man is disciplined, he becomes a better person. A man who is disciplined learns the value of time. He becomes active and relevant.

Being committed to a course, it could either be academically, spiritually, in your business, relationship, your health or even to your day to day activity.

I WOULD BE FOCUSING ON BEING DISCIPLINED/COMMITTED TO THE PROPAGATION OF THE GOSPEL.

Some people want to be successful but are not disciplined to be successful.

David in the Bible had 3 mighty men who were sold out, disciplined and committed.

2 Samuel 23 vs 9 -11:
Next to him was Eleazar son of Dodai the Ahohite. As one of the three mighty warriors, he was with David when they taunted the Philistines gathered at Pas Dammim[d] for battle. Then the Israelites retreated, but Eleazar stood his ground and struck down the Philistines till his hand grew tired and froze to the sword. The Lord brought about a great victory that day. The troops returned to Eleazar, but only to strip the dead.

Eleazor stood his ground and fought the philistines he never stopped, he never said "oh since the Israelites has retreated I will do the same" NO!

Eleazor was committed to a course which he had no turning back. Imagine if you were sent to a war and all the other warriors decided to retreat back leaving just you to fight against thousands of men, it would really take the grace of God for you to decide to continue, but this man stood his ground. He understood what it means to be disciplined and committed to a course, he knew there was no turning back for him. This man struck down the philistines till his hands grew tired!!! Ah!!

What a devotion, to a point his hands were stuck to the sword he was using. He exceeded threshold frequency.

Questions I Have For You!

  • How far are you committed to this gospel?

  • How far have you disciplined yourself to make sure this gospel must be heard through every possible means including music (As a singer).

  • Are you ready to stick no matter what happens?

  • Have you understood the vision and mission of this Gospel and have decided to be completely committed?

  • Would you be amongst the mighty men of God in these last days or you would be the one running when there are programs or your attention is needed?

  • Would you be amongst those that will runaway, be quite and watch what is happening or reading messages and not responding?

Now something significant happened, the Bible said,

"And the Lord brought about great victory" Yes!!

God used only one man to slay thousands and not only that, He also gave them great victory. That means when you are committed to a course completely, there is always a reward.

Let’s kindly look at verses 15 & 16 of the same 2 Samuel;

And David said with longing, “Oh, that someone would give me a drink of the water from the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!” 16 So the three mighty men broke through the camp of the Philistines, drew water from the well of Bethlehem that was by the gate, and took it and brought it to David. Nevertheless he would not drink it, but poured it out to the Lord.

Because when they came back David was surprised about it.

Now we should understand that in the quest for being committed there must be a lot of risk to be taken. Until you go beyond the usual you are not committed yet, your price of loyalty haven’t been paid. The 3 mighty men did not just walk to the well of Bethlehem to get the water, the Bible said

“they broke into the city”**

They took A RISK.

We should be ready to do the unusual for the gospel.

We will remain within ourselves, closed off to the opportunities and call that Christ has given us, making us miss a lot.

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

Discipline is a bridge between goals and accomplishments.

If you want to accomplish a goal, you have to be committed by breaking the bridge.

The quality of a person's life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavor.

Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment and discipline to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort.

People sometimes forget that discipline is an act not just a word .

2 Timothy4:7

Paul said I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. This is because Paul was disciplined and committed to a course.

I hope you were blessed by this words/teaching? May God bless His word in your Spirit.

Christians are not excused with having struggles in life no matter their lives seem perfect. They are even more have to be disciplined with how they face the day each day as how they represent God in their lives.

Let's also hear what Paul said to the Corinthians

but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified. (1 Corinthians 9:27,)

Sure bro. Thanks for stopping by!
