Ladies and gentlemen of the Community

Grace and peace be to you, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

As the father of four beautiful children, I love the unity between them, it generates tranquility and peace in the home, but when there is discord between them and lawsuit; the family landscape becomes a war field and this is completely unpleasant. I have to seek the presence of God in prayer and ask for his help to neutralize the negative spiritual environment that has formed. This leads me to reflect and wonder about what God thinks and feels when discord, litigation and contention arise in his town. So much so that I understand the reason why God had to throw Lucifer out of heaven and the angels who rebelled against God. I understand that God does not dwell on disunity, on the contrary, God loves unity. That is why the present study, we will do according to the blessings of God on his people when there is unity, likewise consider the position of God when there is discord among the brothers, and the greatest of all, is the liking of God when his church is of one heart and one soul, as experienced in the early church.

Get comfortable and enjoy the message.

Consider the portions of the content of Psalm 133 and there we will find the great mystery of God about the blessings that come from heaven when the people gather in harmony.

Notice, that God says it is good and delicious, when the brothers live together in harmony. What an interesting thing to know, that when we meet in a temple of four walls or in your houses, and sincerity, love and honesty among all those present, you let flow a pleasant atmosphere, with a fresh perfume of love. This unity rises like incense to the presence of God, and causes that in the eyes of the Lord there is something so special, so good and so delicious that God enjoys it. God enjoys unity among the brothers. Recently, I had to preach in a simple and humble church, where the conditions of material life of the brothers was not so flattering, but as soon as I put a foot in the church, it breathed a pleasant atmosphere, the little brothers gave you their hands to greet you, they embraced you and gave you a holy kiss, and there was a smile on their faces, it was so impressive, the reception, that when the service began, the beautiful presence of God was manifested as sweet and refreshing as Hermon's dew, the humility of those little brothers, simple, but full of the love of God. The unity between them was so powerful, that the environment was filled completely with the glory of God. How beautiful, I had to preach about the unity of God's people, and the environment became so exemplary that it inspired me to write this message and share it with the brothers of Steemchurch. May God continue to bless our leader of the Steemchurch more and more to the knight @sniffnscurry so that as a Christian community of the blockchain we can continue to grow in unity.

Revisiting again, Psalm 133 in verse 1, the Lord highlights a key word, and it is the word brothers, which literally refers to a close relative, but also alludes to any companion. The psalmist David uses two similes to describe the joy of the brothers who literally sit together in harmony, the good oil (aromatic perfume) and the refreshing dew of the mountain (Hermon's dew). When we live in an enclosure to share with the brothers in Christ, or with the neighbors of the sector where you live or with your colleagues at work or study, harmony must prevail, this will be your testimony as a born in Christ, who is capable to bring peace to the place where you gather or live.

It is motivating to know that harmony between brothers, friends or companion, leads us to experience the blessings of God such as peace, tranquility, health, joy, happiness, happiness, etc. All this, product of the unit.

However, in the word of God, we also find situations in which discord between brothers brings dire and painful consequences. To do this, we will review what is recorded in (Genesis 4: 9) that illustrates the children of the first pair of human beings on earth: Adam and Eve.

Fraternal disharmony

When Cain rises up against his brother Abel taking away his life, the eyes of God were logically watching the action of Cain against Abel, because we know that God is Omnipresent. Cain's heart was filled with jealousy, envy, hatred, and anger against his brother Abel because Abel's offering had pleased God more than his. This action of Cain led God to claim his lack of responsibility in the care of his brother Abel and God says: Where is Abel your brother? And he replied: I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?

Dear reader, it is impressive to know that the theme of brotherhood, from the very beginning of the Scriptures, God gives its importance. In this passage (Gen. 4: 9) the issue of one's responsibility to the other appears for the first time. Cain asks: Am I my brother's keeper? The word used for guardian (from the Hebrew shamar) means: safeguard, protect, attend or consider.

It is notorious to know that we are not only guardians of our brothers and sisters, but that we will be called to trial for our treatment of our brothers and sisters (physical and spiritual).

Because of Cain's sins against his brother Abel, God curses him, takes away his ability to cultivate and sentences him to a life of fugitive and vagabond (Gen 4:12). This clearly indicates that fraternal disharmony destines us to sterility and frustration in our purposes.

It is flattering, to recognize the level and the high degree of unity and harmony of the primitive church of the first century after Christ. It is dreamer for the modern church to be able to lead this lifestyle of unity and harmony, that we can please God and the Lord can say from his throne, How good and how delicious my children live together in harmony!

The unity and harmonies of the early church

The Unity and Harmony of the early church was a primary aspect for the leaders of the church in the New Testament. Whenever the leaders of the early church met in Jerusalem, we are told that they were united and in harmony with one another and with God (Acts 2:46, 4:24, 5:12, 15:25). The unanimity was spiritual and practical, not only theological, because we see that they shared their lives and possessions. Acts 2: 42-47 gives us a description of New Testament leadership: they met, studied together, shared their material possessions (Acts 2:45, 4: 32-37, 6: 1). They often met to pray, which revealed not only the good relationship between them, but also their total trust in God (Acts 2:42, 4:31, 12: 5, 13: 3).

In conclusion, God blesses the unity of his people, but brings his discipline when we bet on disharmony. The clearest example of unity and harmony for the current church, we have with the early church. It is good and delicious in the eyes of God, that his people live together in harmony.
