Sanctification:

It means making holy, consecrating, separating from the world and turning away from sin for intimate communion with God and serving him with joy.

Have you really separated from the world?

Have you really turned away from sin?

Have you obeyed my word?

2 chronicles; 29: 3-7
"3 In the first year of his reign, in the first month, he opened the doors of the house of the Lord, and repaired them.
4 And he brought the priests and the Levites and gathered them in the east plaza.
5 He said to them, "Listen to me, Levites! Sanctify yourselves now, and sanctify the house of Jehovah the God of your fathers, and bring out the filth from the sanctuary.
6 For our fathers have rebelled, and have done evil in the sight of the LORD our God; because they left him, and turned their faces away from the tabernacle of the Lord, and turned their backs on him.
7 And they shut up the doors of the porch, and put out the lamps; they did not burn incense, nor sacrifice a burnt offering in the sanctuary to the God of Israel.

Verse 15; 16: "15 These gathered their brethren, and sanctified themselves, and went in, according to the commandment of the king, and the words of the LORD, to cleanse the house of the LORD.
16 And when the priests entered into the house of the LORD to cleanse it, they brought out all the filth that they found in the temple of the LORD, to the court of the house of the LORD; and from there the Levites carried her out to the stream of Kidron. "

Sanctification was the will of God for the Israelites of the Old Testament, they should live in holiness, separated from the lifestyle of the surrounding nations, sanctification is a vital requirement for believers because as it says:

Hebrews: 12:14
“ Follow Peace with everyone and holiness without which no one will see God.”

Take the filth out of the sanctuary, the purpose is for the people of God to experience revival and the renewal of the spirit.

We must take into account the following:

• Confession of sins before God (Psalm 51; 3); We must acknowledge our sins, our nature is sinful, many believers have experienced joy and then fall into immorality, experience a prolonged time of spiritual repentance and struggle but if it stays firm satan deflects them.

• Cleaning the house of God:
  Anything that offends the Lord must be removed, affecting the sound doctrine, worship and way of life of the church; we must remember that our body is also the temple of God where the Holy Spirit dwells.

How can sanctification be achieved?

• With the decision to depart from the bad.
• With the intimate communion with Jesus Christ.
• With faith.
• with union in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
• with the blood of Christ.
• with the word of God.
• with the regenerating and sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit in the heart.
  2 Corinthians 6:16 And what agreement is there between the temple of God and the idols? Because you are the temple of the living God, as God said:
  I will live and walk among them,
  And I will be your God,
  And they will be my people.

Paul presents the convincing argument that the born-again believer, being the temple of God and the Holy Spirit, can not be possessed by a demon.

The idols in both the old and new testaments, represented the demons. That is why the worst form of desecration in the Old Testament was to establish idols in the temple of God.

Even if a bad spirit can not live together with the Holy Spirit within the true believer, there may be circumstances in which a bad spirit lives in a person who is in the process of conversion, but has not been completely regenerated by the

Holy Spirit; as long as the demonic strength or power is not broken, that person can not know the full conversion and become the temple of the living God.

1Peter 1: 2 "2 chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father in sanctification of the Spirit, to obey and be sprinkled with the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied to you."

In the old testament, sin was expiated through the blood of animals placed on the altar; In the new testament we are cleansed of all sin thanks to the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, in the new covenant we have Christ as our advocate, what he demands is repentance, confession of our sins, before the cross.

1 John 2: 1 "My little children, these things I write to you so that you do not sin; and if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father Jesus Christ the Just. "

Why, if we have it and have received it, do we keep falling backwards and tempting our Lord?

The Lord has given us the means and tools to sanctify us: Prayer, fasting, reading the word and praise. We have the armor of God which we should ask in our prayers and stand firm before the darts launched by the enemy (satan). The Lord wants a clean church, wants everyone to be sanctified to leave the world and its pleasures.

Conclusion:

God is Holy and wants us to be holy, set apart from evil, blameless, lovers of the good, love our neighbor as he has loved us, just look around and realize that evil as it says his word it has increased, the children of God must be different, let's try to do our best to honor our Father, keep the heart of evil. Pray for God to help us in this journey.
