PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
In those days,parents lacks control over their children which lead to their downfall.
As the scripture says,eli lack control over his children (hophni and phinehas)which leads to their downfall, God told eli about the evil of his children, cause they treated the offering of God with contempt and also slept with women at the entrance to the temple,eli was old and more concerned with the ministry than the welfare of his children, because of the lack of control over his children hophni and phinehas were defeated in a battle with the Philippines, they never followed the right path.
David also portrayed parental weakness at different intervals in the bible,david lacks control over his children which lead Amno david's son fall in love and slept with his half sister named Tamar and Absalom david's son killed Amno for sleeping with his sister and also Absalom rebelled against his father David, all this was david fault ,because he did not lead his children to the right path, which led to parent downfall
and also his children downfall.
Parents should train their children to the right path,and parents should go close to them to know what is wrong,they should never be ignored,parents should show love and they should be caring to their children.
According to the scripture "train up a child in the way he should grow and when his old he will not depart from it"some parents will ignore their children and this will lead them to their downfall. This scripture is advising parents out there that they should train their children in the ways of the lord,and also they will never depart from it.
King Asa did what pleases the lord in the bible,he was a good parent to Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat follow the footsteps of his father and the footstep of the lord.
The author of books of chronicles generally praise Jehoshaphat reign,stating that the kingdom enjoyed a great measure of peace and prosperity, he traveled am on the people in other to call the people back to the lord.
All this happened all because of his parent they lead him to the right path,he was close to his parent and also took the advise of his parent which did not lead him to his downfall.ASA is a good example of a parent.
Parents never you curse your children,rather bless them because they are the futures leaders of tomorrow.
Proverb 22 : 6
- Train up a child in the way he should go [and in keeping with his individual gift or bent], and when he is old he will not depart from it.

It is the responsibility of parents to train their children be moral and be of good conduct. This is the first assignment parents have, they have to take time to do it well. Thanks for sharing.

Parents should be good role models

The number one witness to our children is the godly example set by our own lives. Therefore, we must continually examine ourselves and our witness to our children. Proverbs 20:7 says, “The righteous man leads a blameless life; blessed are his children after him.” The main reason for the blessed state of this man’s children is that they have someone to look up to and use as an example from which to model their own behaviour. So, we must strive to be that example to our own children, even as Christ is our example. We believe the best way to assure that you are that witness is through a disciplined life of studying the Bible, prayer, fellowship, and serving. As you do this your life will reflect the very character of God more and more each day and your children will witness that reflection.
It is the obligation of guardians to prepare their kids be moral and be of good lead. This is the principal task guardians have, they need to set aside opportunity to do it well. A debt of gratitude is in order for sharing.
The first and foremost responsibility of a parent is to train their children in the way of the Lord.
Godly parenting requires that you put off the evil and put on good in both your own practice and in what you require of your children. Your own example has to match the instructions you give your children or they will see the hypocrisy and reject your teaching. In fact, your example will have a greater effect upon them than anything else you do. When a disciple (student) is fully trained, he will be like his teacher (Luke 6:40). If you are characterized by walking in the flesh with attitudes and actions of anger, wrath, malice, slander and abusive speech (Col. 3:8), then don’t be surprised when your children exhibit the same characteristics. The same is true of immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire and greed (Col. 3:5). If the evil practices of the old self characterize your life, then they will also characterize the lives of your children unless the Lord intervenes to save them despite your negative influence. At the same time, if your life is characterized as walking in the new self with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, bearing one another’s burdens, forgiving each other, being loving with the word of Christ richly dwelling in you, then your children will take on a lot of those characteristics even if they are not saved.
