These words can only be sourced from the heart of one who understands the significance of being with Him (God).

"If you let me go, where will I be Lord?"

Often times, there are factors that tend to draw us away from Him. Our approach to these factors determines the effectiveness of our Christian journey and faith.

Towards the latter part of John chapter 6 where Jesus introduced Himself as the bread. In verse 58, the scripture reads:

"This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever."

He continued by saying that there are some of them (His followers) who do not believe, in addition, he said therefore that no man can come unto Him, except it were given unto him of His Father.

Jesus' teachings wasn't that which a lot of people will want to hear. The people opposed the Gospel and the Master Himself out of religious dogmatism, spiritual blindness, worldliness and ignorance.

If the people had truly known who Jesus was and toured in that path, it may not have ended in that way. Meanwhile, that the scripture might be fulfilled:

"He the light came to the world, but the world (in their darkness) rejected Him for they knew Him not" (emphasis mine).

It was in this regard that verse John 6:66 (666 the number for the beast) said:

John 6:66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

TO WHOM SHALL WE GO?

Afterwards, then said Jesus unto the twelve:

"Will ye also go away?"

Simon Peter answered Him, saying:

Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

Who then are we when God is absent? Nothing! For He's the one that brings us from nothingness to existence.

Like Paul said, "by His grace, I am who I am today". It therefore means that there's no one that we can run to outside Jesus.

In times of hopelessness, temptations and tribulations, His presence is always there to console us and direct us.

In times of darkness, His present becomes our light.

In moments of death, He who is Life Himself blesses us with everlasting life - the God kind of life.

Peter continued in the 69th verse to affirm again that Jesus is the Son of the Living God, the one who grants us the gift of eternal life.

John 6:69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

On this special day, the Spirit of God (in accordance to His Scripture) keep reminding us that "We should come to Him, all who are heavy labored and ladened, for He would give us rest".

True rest can only come from Him - our true source of consolation and the source of our light.
