GOD'S PEACE

What is the peace of God?

It has been said that there is a peace that is not of this world. How can you recognize? How can it be found? And once it is found, how can it be conserved? Consider each of these questions separately, since each one reflects a different step along the way.

Let's examine the first:

how can you recognize the peace of God?

The peace of God is recognized at the beginning only for one thing: from any point of view it is an experience radically different from any previous experience. It does not bring to mind anything that has happened before. It does not evoke anything that can be associated with the past. It is something completely new. There is certainly a contrast between this experience and any past experience. But interestingly, this is not a contrast based on real differences. The past simply fades away, and eternal stillness takes its place. That is all. The contrast that had been perceived at first simply disappears. The stillness has spread to cover everything.

How is this stillness?

No one who seeks only their conditions can stop finding it. The peace of God can not make an appearance where there is anger, because anger necessarily denies the existence of peace. Anyone who in any way or in any circumstances considers that anger is justified, proclaims that peace is foolish, and can not help but believe that it does not exist. In these conditions you can not find the peace of God. Forgiveness is, therefore, the indispensable condition to find it. What is more, where there is forgiveness, there must be peace. Well, what else but the attack leads to war? And what else but peace is the opposite of war? Here the initial contrast stands out in a clear and obvious way. When peace is found, however, war no longer makes sense. And now it is the conflict that is perceived as nonexistent and unreal.

How is the peace of God preserved once it has been found?

If anger returns, in whatever form, the heavy curtain will fall once more and the belief that there is no possibility of peace will inevitably return. The war will once again be accepted as the only reality. And now you will have to lay down your sword again, even if you did not realize that you had brandished it again. But remembering, even if only vaguely, how happy you were without her, you will realize that you should have brandished her again to defend yourself. Stop then for a moment and think about the following: would you prefer the conflict or would the peace of God be a better option? A quiet mind is not a trivial gift. Which one gives you more? Is not it preferable to live to choose death?

Living is joy, but death is nothing but weeping. You see in death your escape from what you have done. But what you do not see is that you yourself invented death, which is nothing more than the illusion of an end. Death can not be an escape because the problem does not lie in life. Life has no opposite, it is God. Life seems to be the opposite of death because you have decided that death ends life. Forgive the world and you will understand that nothing that God created can have an end, and that nothing He has not created is real. With this phrase our course is summarized. With this phrase our practices are given the only objective they have. With this phrase, the program of studies of the Holy Spirit is described exactly as it is.

What is the peace of God?

The peace of God is no more than this: the simple understanding that His Will has no opposite. No thought that contradicts His Will can be true. The contrast between His Will and yours only gave the impression of being real. In reality there was no conflict, for His Will is yours. Now the mighty Will of God Himself is His gift to you. He does not want to stay with Her just for Himself. Why would you want to keep your insignificant and fragile hallucinations hidden from Him? The Will of God is one and is the only thing that exists. That is your heritage. All the universe that is beyond the sun and the stars, as well as all the thoughts that you can conceive, belongs to you. The peace of God is the condition for His Will to be done. Reach His peace, and you will remember Him.

Eight biblical truths about the peace of God

God is the safest being in the universe. Not only because of objective security that possesses nothing can defeat or destroy. You do not have to put locks or take out health insurance. He also experiences the greatest subjective security that can be experienced. He has no scares or frights, no fear of the future, enjoys full satisfaction and perpetual contentment and joy. Live in the total enjoyment of peace being the safest in the universe.
The subject that I want to talk to you about is the theme of peace. And although I want to talk about the "peace of God," I really want to talk about the "peace of God in us." The peace of God must come to be the peace of God in us.

Everyone wants to live in peace: enjoy a life free of conflict and problems. What does the word "peace" evoke for you? Wellness? Satisfaction? Freedom from disturbances and worries? prosperity? tranquility? Health? Zero conflicts? break? All these things are included in the use that has generally been given to the term. In fact, when we study the OT we can observe the importance that the term had for people. The Shalom of God was something very longed for and expected. It was included in the traditional greeting between people. Even to this day Jews and Muslims use the expression "peace be with you."

"And the judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness shall dwell in the fertile field. And the effect of justice will be peace; and the work of justice, rest and security forever. And my people shall dwell in a dwelling place of peace, in sure habitations, and in rest breaks. "(Isaiah 32: 16-18, RVR60 Open with Logos Bible Software (if available)
The way I want to develop this meditation is by making several statements regarding the subject derived from the Scriptures.

1. God describes himself as a God of peace.

"And the same God of peace sanctify you completely; and all your being, spirit, soul and body, be kept blameless for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. "(1 Thessalonians 5:23)"
And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you "(Rom 16:20)

2. Our Messiah is identified as "Prince of peace."

"Because a child is born to us, a son is given to us, and the principality on his shoulder; and his name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. "(Isaiah 9: 6)
There are several prophecies that refer to the kingdom of peace that Christ will bring. In his first coming he did the work that grants us peace with God, which guarantees us the experience of inner peace and conscience. At his second coming he will provide us with even circumstantial peace. At last there will be true peace, rest and rest, security and health, fullness of joy and joy.

3. The message with which God reached us and that we should preach is a "gospel of peace."

"God sent a message to the children of Israel, announcing the gospel of peace through Jesus Christ; He is the Lord of all. "(Acts 10:36)
"And he came and told the good news of peace to you who were far off, and to those who were near" (Eph 2:17).
"And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace" (Eph 6:15)

4. God is the source of our peace.

"And may the Lord of peace himself always give you peace in every way. The Lord be with you all "(2 Thessalonians 3:16)
"You will keep in complete peace the one whose thought in you perseveres; because in you he has trusted. Trust in the Lord perpetually, for the Lord is the strength of the ages in the Lord. "(Isaiah 26: 3-4)
"Be anxious for nothing, but let your requests be known before God in all prayer and petition, with thanksgiving. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. "(Php 4: 6-7)

5. The work of Christ guarantees our peace with God and our personal peace.

"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" (Rom 5: 1)
"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was crushed for our sins; the punishment of our peace was upon him, and by his stripes we were healed. "(Isaiah 53: 5)
The Bible says that there is no peace for the ungodly (Isaiah 57:21). We were enemies of God, directing us to eternal damnation. But Christ rescued us, redeemed us. It brought us to a new relationship with God.
"For he is our peace, who made one out of both peoples, breaking down the middle wall of separation" (Eph 2:14).

6. The work of the Spirit in the believer is propitiating relational peace.

God makes peace with us and makes his children ambassadors of peace.

The followers of the Prince of peace are made peacemakers.
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God." (Matthew 5: 9)
"Ask for the peace of Jerusalem; May they prosper who love you. Be peace within your walls, And rest within your palaces. For the love of my brothers and my companions I will say: Peace be with you. "(Psalm 122: 6-8)
"If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men." (Rom 12:18)
"For the kingdom of God is not food or drink, but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. For he who serves Christ in this pleases God and is approved by men. So let us follow what contributes to peace and mutual edification. "(Rom 14: 17-19)

7. The life of faith is conducive to inner peace.

Our worries and fears reveal our distrust of God.
"You will keep in complete peace the one whose thought in you perseveres; because in you he has trusted. Trust in the Lord perpetually, for the Lord is the strength of the ages in the Lord. "(Isaiah 26: 3-4)
This is a true, complete peace. God does something here: He is the one who keeps in complete peace. But there is something we do: persevere in Him with our thoughts. We must trust in Him, have faith. Sometimes we believe more in our problems than in God. We must trust in him perpetually because in Him is the strength of the ages.
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit" (Romans 15:13).

8. The peace of God is different from that of the world.

I do not give it as the world gives it.
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you; I do not give it to you as the world gives it. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor be afraid. "(John 14:27)
Notice that Christ was not promising his disciples that they would be free from trouble. What the apostles experienced after the ascension of the Lord was the opposite. They had to confront many afflictions and difficulties, persecutions and tribulations, but they had the peace of Christ in their hearts.
It surpasses all understanding.
