THE INCORRUPTIBLE WORD

1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

The above scripture is a small reminder to the Christians at Colose from apostle Paul. In those days, the Jewish people still held on to the law and considered that all others must follow them if they want to be saved. The Jewish sees themselves as the government back in the days whose rules and regulations calls people to order and has to be followed no matter what.

In this passage,the apostle reminds the christians of the true source of their salvation. He reminded them that they were not redeemed by incorruptible materials or things like the blood of animals, gold, silver etc but by the pure blood of Christ. Telling them Jesus Christ has saved us all from the clutches of sin and death by laying down his life in our place.

John 1:1 In the begining was the word, and the word was with God and God was the word.

This means that we did not became born again by incorruptible seed (money, animals, gifts etc) but by the word of God and Jesus Christ is the word. Therefore, just like Jesus Christ said to satan during his 40days/night fasting, man shall not live by bread alone but by the word of God. Jesus is alive and he lives forever because we have the incorruptible in us that reminds us daily as we go about our daily activities that with the word which is Christ in us we will also live and abide forever.
