Treasures in the sky

First of all, a cordial greeting to all those who read my articles and give me heartfelt support. Today I want to write an article for the whole community in general but with an eye on my brothers @steemchurch, I think it's time to share a biblical teaching that we should all know, it's about making treasures in heaven. In the article we are going to see what a treasure is and why it is important that our riches are in heaven.

19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal;

20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust corrupt, and where thieves neither break nor steal.

21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

History has shown that human beings seem to carry within us an insatiable desire to have wealth, in fact our current system enables us to produce and spend money, our studies, employment, most of the things we do every day have the purpose of getting money in the short or long term. I am not saying that having money is bad because "the worker is worthy of his salary" and I am against the religious who say that being rich is bad because "gold and silver belong to God". In fact, God's desire is that we be prosperous, have health, wealth and happiness. If you think that having money is bad then you say that God made a mistake in giving wealth to Solomon where it is impossible for God to make mistakes.

A rich man with no money and a poor man with money

The problem with money is that it seems to have a will of its own and desires to enslave those who possess it. You can ask yourself how many of the wealthiest in the world are really happy, the answer is simple you just have to discover how many wouldn't mind losing everything they have in an instant and those are the ones who can really get happiness. The problem with this issue is that the nonconformity of the human being makes no amount seem sufficient, then we forget to dedicate time to the family and even to ourselves just to want to acquire more wealth and finally forget that we are all destined to lose everything in an instant, if all die without being able to take anything and when a person with a lot of money thinks about this his face is not exactly a joy because it is a truth that can not deny and is so tied to his money that he loses peace and regrets to know that everything will have an end. But not everything has to be lost.

Treasures

I am one of those who think that the things that really have value in this world have been given to us freely and abundantly, essential things for life such as the sun, water, oxygen, the earth. So it is we who determine whether or not a thing has value. If it is valuable for all it is worth having, then when we keep those things that are considered valuable we could say that we are keeping a treasure, but as the biblical quotation mentioned at the beginning describes, when something is valuable for all then the friends of others appear and there is the risk that it will be stolen. Jesus gives a solution to keep our wealth forever so that no one can steal it, that it does not dominate us and that when we die we can still keep it. The secret is in the phrase "treasures in heaven".

The way to make treasures in heaven is very easy: you must give to the needy, help the oppressed. It does not mean that you should strip away all your wealth and become a beggar, for that is not the purpose. Yet when we do charity we are stripping ourselves of the money to do good to someone without receiving anything in return, everyone who is able to do that is proving that money has no power over him, is not his slave and therefore it does not hurt him to detach himself from it to help others. These are the real rich and "he who gives the poor to God is making a loan" so that God is not going to leave you owing, then giving is the door to eternal riches, if you have done charity or are accustomed to help others then you are making treasures in heaven and these will remain yours even if you die.

The right place to deposit our wealth

Of course depositing in heaven is the safest place not only for our money but also for our mind because the reason that Jesus indicates to make treasures in heaven is "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also". If you have podo money in bank A but you have a lot of money in bank B I am sure that your thoughts will always be in bank B or in any place or account where your money is. Another important point is that when we have money in a place and we observe it we think about increasing those numbers and that is why we try to accumulate everything in the same place, that is why if our treasure is in heaven we will try to add more wealth to it and the way to do it prevents us from being slaves of money, so that we can possess wealth and be free. To be rich is not bad, it is bad to have riches and not be able to enjoy them.
