Steemchurch:A HEART TO HEAR GOD

Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father in Heaven. He who has ears to hear, let him hear (Matthew 13: 43)

It's a amazing to read some statements of Jesus. Several times during His teaching sessions, He ends the teachings with, "those that have ears to hear, let them hear". And in His personal letters to the seven churches, He ends each letter with, "if anyone has ears to hear, let him or her hear what the Spirit of God is saying to the churches (modern translation of 'he who has an ear to hear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches'.
What keeps me thinking is that, it is obvious the people He spoke to have two physical ears like anyone, and apparently they could hear him speak, so they were not physically impaired of hearing. So what does He mean by that statement? Interesting to note too is that, He is speaking to God's people, first to the Jews, God's covenant people, and second, to Christians or those in the church, or church goers, who called themselves the followers of Jesus or disciples! Why then does He say, if anyone of these people have ears to hear Him, let him hear?
Let me point out to you dear brother and sister, that the Lord Jesus Christ does not call anyone who follow Him by his or her church label (the church you attend or belong to) and your denomination (whether a Catholic or protestant or Pentecostal or charismatic). These labels are man made, not God made and they mean nothing to the Lord. What He looks for in His people, in His sheep, is that they hear His voice and they follow Him (John 10: 4, 16).
The problem today is that people don't want to hear His voice, because they don't have a heart for God. What is sad and grieve the Lord is that these same people filled His house and churches to the full and use man made labels as their badge of belonging to Him.
We should note hear that we hear God with our heart, and that we must always be sensitive and willing to hear Him by the Holy Spirit, as it's the Holy Spirit that brings the voice of God to us.
Solomon indeed was wise to know this. When he became a king, he had a great and a rare opportunity to ask God for anything he wants. If it were you, I know what you would have asked: -money, fame, power and other material things. But Solomon asked for none of these. He asked for 'a discerning heart to judge wrong from right' (1 Kings 3: 5 - 10). What the English says a discerning heart, the Hebrew says a hearing heart. Actually we hear God with our heart, and we should always have a heart that is hearing, willing and receptive to the Spirit of God, ready to hear Him and obey Him anytime anywhere. And that is what King Solomon asked God for. And we are told his request pleased God. Wow. Amen
What do you have inside you as a Christian or as a church goer or a follow of Christ? Heart that hears God or a heart that goes its own way and follow its own inclinations and desires? What have you been asking God for in 2018, a hearing heart o money?

Jesus told the Church, 'I stand at the door and knock. If you would hear My voice and open the door, He says, He will come in to you, not to the church or the other people, but you who is hearing His voice.

So what do you hear when you go to church? When you are at work or in your home, what have you been hearing and whose voice is that?

Is it the voice of Jesus or other voices, which He calls the voice of strangers, and it doesn't matter if they are in church cloths.
I want to counsel you, develop a hearing heart now for the Lord Jesus. He says, if anyone one has ears, implying, it is your duty to develop that hearing heart for Him.
So as we approach the end of the year, one thing you can do for yourself is to give yourself a gift of a hearing heart and you would be blessed.
May the blessing of a hearing heart come on your way in Jesus name. Amen
Shalom, life and grace to you

We must always listen to Jesus Christ if we want salvation for our souls. To hear means to listen with your cognitive, take the good point and act accordingly. For this reason, we cannot just hear for hearing sake. But, in most cases, people but they do not listen, and that is dangerous aspect of people in that angle, that is why Jesus said: "blessed are those who hear my words and abide with it." In summary, hear Jesus Christ and abide with him and receive salvation!
