Steemchurch:JUSTIFICATION IN JESUS

Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins, and through Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses (Acts 13: 38 -39)

Apostle Paul through the Spirit brings out certain truths in Christ by revelation, which became the core message of the Gospel he was commissioned to preach.
These truths are that through Jesus, whom the Jews crucified and whom God has raised from the dead and exalted to His right hand in glory, all people can receive forgiveness of sins and justification by faith.
Most people do understand forgiveness, but not justification.
Justification is simply to be declared or pronounced 'not guilty and therefore acquitted by a judicial court'.
This technical definition is a bit misleading when it comes to our case, our justification by God in Christ Jesus.
Ours is similar to a judicial court finding you guilty and deserving of a harsh, higher sentence. But the Court is petitioned by a noble man, who is using his nobility to set you free and accept your guilt and sentence on himself and pay for it in your place. It's a matter of exchange, on somebody's account.
So Paul explained that under the Law of Moses, not many people can be set free, forgiven or acquitted because of the nature and magnitude of their crime or sin, but through Jesus, you can be set free because He takes your place and let you go on His account. That is why Scripture says, "For He (God the Father) made Him (Jesus) who knew no sin (that is, without blemish and without spot. He had no original sin or personal sin) to be sin for us (that is, He took our sins upon Himself, - the exchange) that we (you and I) might become the righteousness of God in Him (in Jesus, if you and I want it) (2 Cor 5: 21)
This justification issue is well illustrated by an incident in Jerusalem recorded for us by John (John 8: 2 -11)

A woman was caught in sexual act with a man not her husband. And the Pharisees brought her to Jesus and quoted what the Law of Moses says. Under the Law of Moses, that woman is guilty, and her sentence, death by stoning. So no chance or luck for her. Thank God they brought her to Jesus. And Jesus didn't say what the woman did was right nor did He say what the Pharisees were doing was wrong. Rather, He refused to pronounce the woman guilty or condemn her to death, He acquitted her instead and let her go, because He Jesus had taken her place, and was about to die to be sin offering for her, carrying her adultery on the cross.
Under the Law of Moses, the woman could not be justified from her adultery, but through Jesus, she was justified from it and was set apart, not just free, to live a righteous life (Go and sin no more)

And what Jesus did for that woman, He has done it also for us on the cross. So we, you and I, can be justified if you want it and if I want.
It behooves us to run to Him now for Him to justify us with His blood and with His righteousness. We can be reckoned righteous with the righteousness of Jesus and be set free from whatever nature, birth, culture, race, history, government and statutory laws and our habits have put us in and under. There is enough power in the blood of Jesus, there is enough power in Jesus Christ to anull all these powers and chains.
So come to Him now and be declared justified by Him in accordance with the finished works of the Cross.
May you be set free in Jesus name and may He justify you as He did for that woman in Jesus name. Amen
Shallom, life and grace to you
