CONSEQUENCES OF ADHERING TO PRESSURE

“And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us.” – Exodus 32:1.

Anytime you are pressured to do something against your will, disaster is inevitable. The opinions of men must never supersede the opinion of God. Acts 5:29 ~ “Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, we ought to obey God rather than men.” No matter how convicting or appealing something is, if it is against your belief or contrary to the word of God, stand your grounds and say no.

I stated one time that, it is better to obey the voice of God and be hated by men than to please men and suffer the wrath of God. It pays to wait on God’s timing. Moses was in the presence of God on Mount Sinai receiving the Ten Commandments when the Israelites told Aaron to make them a god to lead them.

Aaron helped them to make an idol which they worshipped. If not for Moses’ intervention, God would have destroyed all the Israelites for such an act of dishonour. Always do what is right in God’s sight. When Peter and John were asked not to preach about Jesus again, they said, “Which is right in God's eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges!” (Acts 4:19, NIV).

Do not allow anyone to manipulate you. Stand for the truth. God backs those who stand for Him. For instance, if an individual loses his job because he refused to be involved in a shady deal, God will give such a person a better job. The traps of the enemy comes in many forms, beware of his devices. Do not compromise your principles and beliefs for anything.
