Thought For The Day~Respond To Your True Calling.

There was a righteous man named Simeon, who by the Spirit was told, he would not see death until he had seen the Lord's Christ. So, on this particular day, by the Spirit, he came to the temple, and according to the scriptures uttered some important words. He said in Luk 2:30-32 "For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; a light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel." Simeon lifted the young lad and called Him, amongst other things, he said, Jesus is a light, born to give light to the Gentiles and also called Him the glory of thy people Israel! Two very powerful statements.

Jesus said concerning Himself in John 9:5 "As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world." This is in concert with the Simeon's prophesy. Along with that in Matt 5:14 Jesus says concerning us that "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid."

Jesus responded and lived according to the prophesies concerning Him. This month, the Spirit has said we are a greater light. Not a great light, but a greater light. It means, now more than ever before we cannot afford to wine and dine with sin and fulfil prophecy. Dense darkness already blankets the earth. So much wickedness, bitterness, hatred, self pleasing, greed, and such things are quite rampant these days. Our lives must shine forth the excellence of the One whose Spirit dwells in us. We truly are that beacon of hope. Everything we need to manifest the glory of God has been programmed into our spirits. We must, like Paul die daily to the self!

Like Jesus, we need to affirmatively respond to the Word.
