BEATITUDES| Day # 1 Blessed The Poor In Spirit

in #steemchurch6 years ago (edited)

Good evening, have everyone! Greetings to the Christian community of Steemchurch. I leave here my contribution for the teachings of the Beatitudes initiated by @sc-v and led by the Apostle @darlenys01

Day 1

"Happy are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven."

Can someone be happy being poor?

Poor in Spirit

A walk through the Bible, will give us the correct answer

The evangelist Matthew, compared to Luke, clarifies that it is the "poor in the spirit" (Matthew 5:20). The poor in spirit is, for the Old Testament, the humble and the little before God (Genesis 32: 11-12).

Deliver me now from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau, because I fear him; do not come and hurt me the mother with the children. And you said: I will do you good, and your offspring will be like the sand of the sea, which can not be counted by the multitude.

For the New Testament it is that person who does not like to exhibit (Luke 14: 7-11)

Observing how they chose the first seats at the table, he told the guests a parable, saying: When you are invited by some to weddings, you do not sit in the first place, lest someone more distinguished than you be invited by him, and When he who invited you and him came, he said to you: Give place to this one; and then you begin with shame to take the last place. But when you are invited, go and sit in the last place, so that when the one who invited you comes, he says: Friend, go up higher; then you will have glory before those who sit with you at the table. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled; and he who humbles himself will be exalted.

He does not live by comparing himself with others (Lk 18: 9-14)

To some who trusted in themselves as righteous, and despised others, he also said this parable: Two men went up to the temple to pray: one was a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee, standing up, prayed with himself in this way: God, I thank you because I am not like other men, thieves, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this publican; I fast twice a week, I give tithes of everything I earn. But the publican, being far away, did not even want to look up to heaven, but beat his chest, saying: God, be merciful to me, a sinner. I tell you that he went down to his house justified before the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled; and he who humbles himself will be exalted.

The poor in spirit easily take the towel to the waist to serve others.

Then he came to Simon Peter; and Peter said to him, Lord, do you wash my feet? Jesus answered and said: What I do, you do not understand now; but you will understand later.
John 13: 6-7

Only then do we understand that Paul has told the Corinthians that "Jesus Christ, being rich, has become poor for you, to be enriched by his poverty" (2 Corinthians 8: 9, Philippians 2: 1-11).

The poor live without falsehood and without pride in the heart. Recognize, therefore, that all you have is gift. And, nothing having, everything has. And we, having everything, many times we have nothing (hence the myth of happiness).

You are the kingdom of God

To the humble, Jesus promised the kingdom and communion with God. But when will the kingdom of God come? Christ says that "the Kingdom of God does not come ostensively. No one can say: "I got it here," because the Kingdom of God is among you "(Luke 17: 20-21).

In other words, the kingdom of God happens whenever God reigns. And, to reign, he needs our poor collaboration.

Now we do understand the meaning of this first beatitude. The poor in the spirit are all those who have the courage to decentralize themselves to place Christ and his kingdom first.

I think it is a very enriching explanation sister @kristal01 talk about service, only the poor in spirit are capable of serving others.

Jesus says, “The poor in spirit are blessed!” This is where the blessing of God begins. To be poor in spirit is the gateway to blessing that leads to all the others. Without this, no other blessings are within your reach.

This teaching is very beautiful. Good job Kristal. God bless you

Hello Kristal! I am surprised at the many knowledge we can acquire from a biblical verse. Good teaching.

Poor in spirit, you need to depend directly on God in all your needs. It is not with sword or army but with his Holy Spirit. Blessings.

Good teaching @ kristal, the poverty of spirit is like being light of the world, you always let see your humility and your dependence on God.
Blessings.

I learned a lot from this teaching. it really focuses us with our design. Blessings @ kristal01
