ZEAL FOR GOD

hello Steemians, today I will be shedding more light on the topic zeal for God.

Zeal is the eager and intense interest in pursuing something or someone. It is important that we, as Christians, also have a zeal for God and the things of God in general. We must have zeal and the correct object for our zeal. 

But there is another essential element I.e our zeal must be based in the truth. Many people today have a zeal for God that is “ not in accordance with knowledge. ” While they are eager to serve God, they are ignorant of His word. So they establish their own path which puts them in a lost condition.

And that was why Jesus said in (Matthew 7:21-23)KJV:"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?. And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity".
No matter how zealous one is, if he is not doing the things that God wants us to do, his labor and zeal will be in vain.
There are certain ways in which zeal is seen in one’s life. In each of these, our zeal must always be directed. Toward God and be founded in the truth.*Zeal should characterize spiritual life. In Romans 12:11, NIV. “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.”
Christian zeal is not loud and noisy, but humbly grows in faithfulness. It’s in the Bible, 2 Peter 1:5-7, AMP:"For this very reason, adding your diligence [to the divine promises], employ every effort in exercising your faith to develop virtue (excellence, resolution, Christian energy), and in [exercising] virtue [develop] knowledge (intelligence),
6:AMP:And in [exercising] knowledge [develop] self-control, and in [exercising] self-control [develop] steadfastness (patience, endurance), and in [exercising] steadfastness [develop] godliness (piety),
7:AMP:And in [exercising] godliness [develop] brotherly affection, and in [exercising] brotherly affection [develop] Christian love."Zeal for God is being single-minded and also Christ will make us full of zeal to do good.

 The Bible says in Titus 2:14, NIV:"who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good".
In conclusion, having zeal for God's work always yield great reward and it makes us really strong and also help us in building ourselves in our own day to day activities in life.
