One thing is the Holy Spirit, another, the inner man. Your inner man was dead; when you accept Christ as your Savior, the Holy Spirit vivifies your spirit, and that man is the one who must now flourish. The Greek word cardia, which is often translated as a heart, refers to the inner man in the New Testament. And there are 4 vital parts of that inner man:

Intellect - Your inner man has thoughts in himself. Your mind produces thoughts, but your inner man also; think, analyze the things of the Spirit; and that is the battle of thoughts that are in your mind; The battle is what to do, if what your inner man, your mind, or the people tell you. In your mind, your thoughts are a product of what you feel in your body, of the memories of your mind, or they can be produced by the experience of the Spirit. The Bible says that God is going to give you the desires of your heart; It is not that God is going to give you everything you want, but God is going to give you the desires, He will give you what you should want, what your heart should desire. When you accept Christ as your Savior, your flesh wanted some things, but God is going to change your desires, your heart is going to crave some things that before you did not want, you will aspire to things that you did not aspire before; and what has changed is that God changed the desires of your heart. We are all constantly bombarded by multiple thoughts that come from everywhere; what you see, what you remember, what you imagine, what they tell you, what you feel. Your mind has conscious and subconscious, but that is not what we are talking about; your inner man also produces thoughts from the depths. That's why the Bible says that the Spirit searches your heart and God's, so you can put the thoughts of God in your life. That's why the Bible says that the Word of God is sharper than any 2-edged sword, and penetrates to split the soul and spirit, to separate your carnal mind from the spirit so you can differentiate the deepest within. of you. And, if you want one day to submit your life, you have to allow God, from within, to change your desires; May it be the thoughts of Him that arise and remain in your life.

Will - Where the will is is not in your body and in your mind, but in your interior. Will is the ability to decide something firmly. We have all tried to have the willpower to pray, to decimate; You have proposed to do things and not complete them, you can not submit because it comes from a desire of your mind to improve certain things, but it has not necessarily been a product of your interior. Now, if your inner man is truly strengthened, no matter the condition of your mind, it will be subdued. Christ met the demoniac Gadarene, a man who was bound with chains, locked him up, broke everything, was uncontrollable; but when Christ arrived, the man fell on his knees. That man that nobody could control, the spirit threw him to his knees. You can try to tie yourself in the body, try to tie your mind, but in reality until it comes out of the spirit, you will not have the victory of submitting all those things. But the day that in your interior there is a transformation, that part is vivified and awakens, there you will stand firm before any problem, before any decision, and what you say you will complete it.
Emotions - Your inner man has emotions that are experienced from the depths of the heart. For example, the Bible tells us about peace that surpasses all understanding. You have a problem and people see you calm, and there is something within you that has taken authority over your thoughts and, when you should be worried, you are not. In the Bible it says that when someone dies, we do not cry like those who have no hope. The weeping of one who has no hope is different from the cry of him who has hope; It does not sound the same. The inner man produces emotions; He has passion, he feels jealous, he is angry at evil and injustice. And the big thing is when in your life those are the emotions that control you. You do not know how, but you are calm, and that is that the Spirit has taken authority.

Consciousness - It is in this part where the experience of the Spirit is received, where our identity and relationship with God and with others becomes present. One thing is your mind, another is your consciousness. When your consciousness is activated by the Spirit, now you know who you are and you know how you should relate to God and to others, you are clear on who you are and who others are; your consciousness and your mind are clear. This is not the consciousness of good and evil, that is in the soul, in the mind, not in the spirit; Consciousness is in the spirit. That consciousness is what relates you to others. And throughout history, God tried to make man know how to deal with Him and with others. The first classic example are the commandments. The first 4 are about man's dealings with God. The next 6 are the treatment of men towards men. Consciousness is not your mind; your body is one thing, which is subject to sin; the vice is in your body, in that soul is the consciousness of good and evil; but in your spirit is that there is the law of life that wants to subdue the body and transform your mind. Your spirit and the Spirit of God want to subdue your body and transform your mind to experience all that God has for you.

For this cause I bow my knees before the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom all families in the heavens and earth take their name, to give you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with power in the inner man by his Spirit; ... "Two things we conclude from Paul's prayer: First, the inner being or man is the spirit of man; the inner man is the one who is not seen, it is the new nature, the life that God has given us when we have believed in Jesus as our Lord and Savior, it is therefore spiritual life engendered through the Holy Spirit, divine nature living in us . The important thing is to know how to differentiate between the designs of the flesh and those of the spirit. So, when we say that we want to be more spiritual, what we need is to develop the life of the spirit, we must be strengthened with power, because the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. The other conclusion is that there are weak and strong spirits; that is, having been reborn in Christ and received new spiritual life, it can be weak and can not overcome the flesh, the human desires and passions of nature corrupted because of sin.

Today we are going to ask God to strengthen us with power through his Spirit.
