THE GIFT OF DISCERNMENT

The Spirit will speak to us in dreams, visions and prophetic words, but much of what will be revealed will really come through our ability to perceive correctly. The scriptures tell us that The Lord Jesus perceived the thoughts of men "in His Spirit." The same is with us, if we move in the divine discernment, our perception of life must be purged of all human thought and their respective reactions.

To discern, we can not judge.

The beginning or root of a true discernment will not be established until we crucify our instincts to judge. This takes us many months, usually years of uprooting the whole system of thought that has not been planted in the fertile and divine soil of Faith and Love for our neighbor. To appropriate the discernment that is in the "mind of Christ" (1 Corinthians 2:16). "16For who knew the mind of the Lord? Who will instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. ", We must first find the heart of Christ. We can see that the heart and love of the Lord Jesus is summed up in his own words in (John 12:47). "47 He who hears my words and does not keep them, I do not judge him; because I have not come to judge the world, but to save the world. "

Spiritual discernment is seeing where you can not see. This is a gift of the Spirit to perceive what is in the spirit. Its purpose is to look within the nature of what is veiled or veiled. But keep in mind that for us to discern, the first veil to be removed is that of our hearts. First, we must look at ourselves and measure our needs to unveil or remove the veil. The ability we have to see what is external comes from the revelation that Christ gives us to see what is inside. The Lord Jesus needs us to understand our own needs for his mercy, so that from the grace we have received, we can compassionately minister to others. In this process we will realize the selfishness and depravity of our carnal nature. In addition, we will realize that the gift of discernment is not a faculty of our minds.

We must be aware that the goal of the Lord is to save, not judge. We are called to sail, if I may say so, the thin and well hidden path within the true nature of man's need. If you are truly going to help men, we must remember, we are following a Lamb. This foundation must be very clear, since if you want to discern, you can not react.

To perceive, we must reap what seems apparent. People will probably react against us, but we will not be able to react against them. We must always remain in a nature of forgiveness, because the demons that will come out in the name of Jesus will speak to us with the voice of a man hiding in men, that is why the Lord told us, in (Luke 12:10). "Everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven; "The Lord Jesus was prepared to forgive even before people sinned against Him. The Lord knew that His mission was to die for men, not to condemn them.

We are not called to live the life of Christ but also his mission. The Lord Jesus said, (John 17:18). "As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world." We have also been called to die for others to live, I hope they understand the meaning of the previous statement, not to die physically but to desire to judge and be like the world says we are. Therefore we must realize that before our perception develops, our love must develop until our normal attitude is to forgive and forgive. If God shows us the hearts of men and uses us to get them out of captivity, we can not react to what they say. As our perception becomes more like that of Christ and what is in the hearts of men begins to reveal to us, we can not even react to what they think.

We must walk with the power of forgiveness that only God gives us, if we will not have much disappointment and we will presume that we have discernment, when in truth we are seeing through a "spirit of criticism". We must know our weaknesses, because if we are blind to our sins, by the time we assume that we have discerned something from someone, it is not a reflection of ourselves. Also, clearly if we do not handle ourselves in love we will be a threat to the body of Christ, let's look at what the Lord taught us, (Matthew 7: 1-5). "1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2For with the judgment with which you judge, you will be judged, and with the measure with which you measure, it will be measured to you. 3 And why do you look at the straw that is in your brother's eye, and do you not see the beam that is in your own eye? 4 Or how shall you say to your brother: Let me remove the speck from your eye, and behold the beam in your eye? 5Hypocrite! first take the beam out of your own eye, and then you will see well to remove the straw from your brother's eye. "

Repentance is the removal of the beam from our vision and when the removal is done this action is the true beginning of being able to see clearly. There are many who believe that they are receiving discernment from the Lord concerning some issues and are probably receiving it, only God knows, but also some are just simply judging others and calling this discernment. The Lord Jesus ordered us, not to judge. The eternal hand that sculpted the Law in rocks in the old covenant is the same one that is writing the Law of His Kingdom in flesh and blood rocks today. The word "Do not Judge" is as immutable as the Ten Commandments, because the one who keeps talking is God.

The goal is to see clearly.

The carnal judging mind always looks at its own image in others, without realizing that it is looking at itself and presumes that it is perceiving another mind. The Lord refers to people who judge as "hypocrites." The Lord is not telling us to stop thinking about people, waiting for us to help each other. The Lord's emphasis on "Do not judge" is summarized in his final comment, (Matthew 7: 5). "5Hypocrite! first take the beam out of your own eye, and THEN you will see well to take the straw out of your brother's eye "(our capital letters). The way we help is not judging but clearly seeing and we can not see clearly until we have been in deep repentance and until the instinct to judge of the flesh, soul and thought is rooted out. This process must be done with each of these characters or events with which we have had processes or have been marked during our life.

We have been able to read how The Lord Jesus, in parallel, when speaking with people about their sins, took the straw from their eyes. The eyes are the softest and most sensitive part of the human body, ask: How will we remove the straw from someone's eyes? Answer: VERY CAREFULLY! First we must earn your trust. This means demonstrating an attitude that does not judge and that does not condemn instinctively. To help people we must see clearly. We must see face-to-face when a person's vision is being obstructed, to develop confidence and then carefully remove the chaff from the eye, without judging or condoning it.

If we are looking for a heart that does not condemn and if we truly crucify the instinct to judge, we have laid a true foundation for the gift of discernment and thus we have prepared the heart to receive dreams, visions and the revelations of God. In addition, we will begin to walk without blemish of the world's tricks and without corruption.

We get truth from God through his word. God seldom gives dreams or visions. I don't believe anyone's "prophetic" words.

The Bible tells us not to judge sinfully but we are to judge actions.

(1 Corinthians 5:9-13 NIV) I have written you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people-- {10} not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. {11} But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat. {12} What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? {13} God will judge those outside. "Expel the wicked man from among you."

(1 Corinthians 6:1-5 NIV) If any of you has a dispute with another, dare he take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the saints? {2} Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? {3} Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life! {4} Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, appoint as judges even men of little account in the church! {5} I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers?
