Let's Learn To Be Happy

We never live a difficult moment as humanity, in the financial, family, social and spiritual context, like today.

The Apostle Paul was right when he wrote to Timothy: "In the last days will come difficult times." (2Tim 3: 1)

First of all what we are witnessing or experiencing, what has been our reaction and positioning as Christians? Would it be the same as those who do not believe in God and live without hope?

Today, as never before, we must learn to live in the midst of crises, difficult situations and trials without allowing such circumstances to affect our inner peace, joy and trust in God.

I - Someone who knew how to live happily

The apostle Paul is an example to all Christians of someone who learned to be happy. "I was happy, above all, in the Lord, because now, once again, you have renewed my care in my favor, which we also had before, but they lacked opportunity.

I say this, not because of poverty, because I learned to live happily
in every situation "(Philippians 4:10 and 11).

He was meaning here that he learned not to be controlled by the circumstances of life: "I do not depend on the circumstances around me to be happy."

The dominant note of the Epistle to the Philippians is joy.

Paul was not writing simply as an apostle who had to give a message to a church he had founded. He wrote what he felt, as a friend to friends he loved.

He wrote that prison letter.

By his example he tried to show that the circumstances that surround the life of a Christian should not be the factors that determine their attitudes towards life.

How did Paul achieve that condition?

He said: "I learned." Certainly, he did not like the difficulties he was experiencing. He was not a spiritual masochist, nor someone who wanted to suffer, but he learned from experience to be happy in the midst of the setbacks of life.

To make matters worse, he had a thorn in the flesh that made him suffer. For three times he prayed to God for the thorn to be removed.

Humanly, that thorn anguished him and prevented him from doing a better job for God.

God's response was: "My grace is sufficient for you" (2 Cor 12: 9).

II - Happy in any circumstance

Paul also learned to live happily in every situation because he put in mind certain basic concepts of the Christian life.

a) situations are temporary - they always change or happen and I can not depend on them.

b) What matters most is my relationship of friendship with God and my inner peace. My security depends on that relationship.

c) God takes care of me. Everything is under His control and nothing happens to me without Him knowing or allowing. That gives me peace of mind. Therefore, I will not allow bad situations to steal my peace and joy.

III - Satisfaction in Christ

The principle that emerges here is that Paul had learned to find contentment in his satisfaction in Christ. You and I need to learn this same lesson:

a) In times of peace - they usually only have a theoretical experience with God.

b) In times of tribulation - We truly learn to trust God and have real experience with him.

Paul's friendship and trust in God were so great and real that the other things in this life did not interfere negatively in his life.

Finally, I believe that the greatest help for Paul in his learning of how to be happy in the midst of difficulties, was the fact that he looks and follows the great and perfect example of Christ.

"Therefore, we too, since we have to surround ourselves with such a large cloud of witnesses, letting go of all the weight and the sin that tenaciously besets us, let us run, with perseverance, the career that is proposed to us, looking firmly to the Author and the Consumer of faith, Jesus, who, in exchange for the joy that he had proposed, endured the cross, ignoring the ignominy, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. the opposition of sinners against themselves, so that they do not exhaust you, fainting in your souls "(Heb 12: 1-3).

He applied that example in his personal life. In the time in which we live we also need, as never before, to fix our eyes on Christ.

I do not know what their struggles, tribulations and illnesses are, but I know one thing: we can trust in Christ, because in Him we find the courage and strength we need.

We need not fear because the promise is: "I am not alone, because the Father is with me" (Jn 16:32).

This thought is very wise Lorennys:
Today, as never before, we must learn to live in the midst of crisis, difficult situations and trials without allowing such circumstances to affect our inner peace, joy and trust in God.

CORRECTO, SENTIRNOS ACOMPAÑADOS DE DIOS CUANDO LOS MOMENTOS SON DIFÍCILES, ES UNA DE LAS COSAS MÁS AUDACES QUE HACEMOS. Y APRENDER A APOYARNOS EN DIOS ES MARAVILLOSO.

YO SIENTO QUE LIBERO CARGAS Y QUE DIOS ME ALIGERA EL PESO CUANDO ME SIENTO APESADUMBRADA. Gracias Diosito mio.
