in #steemchurch5 years ago

Greetings brothers of steemchurch, our history is full of people who inspire the masses.

AIMMEE SEMPLE McPHERSON is one of them

Many people came to listen to Aimee from afar as she was considered "the girl with the special gift". His evangelistic campaigns were transformed into meetings of miracles. He presented the gospel without regard to persons, without racial barriers; He evangelized in the poor neighborhoods and in many of his services became members of the Ku Klux Klan.

Aimme Elizabeth Kennedy, later known as Aimee Semple McPherson, was born on October 9, 1890, in Ontario, Canada, on a farm near Ingersoll. She was the daughter of a Methodist father and mother with roots in the Salvation Army. From an early age she became interested in preaching and a marked leadership that led her to excel in her congregation. At 13 she was already an active part as one of the preachers of her church and of the city. Many people came to listen to Aimee from afar as she was considered "the girl with the special gift".

After being widowed of her first husband, Robert Semple, and of separating from her second husband, Harold McPherson, Aimme decided to obey her call to guide souls at the feet of Christ. He began doing campaigns, which he carried out in a tent with which he toured different cities in the United States.

His evangelistic campaigns were transformed into meetings of miracles. Thousands of people came to his services because it was a novelty to hear a woman speak of the message of Jesus Christ and the miracles that accompanied his preaching. His way of bringing them the message of salvation was to present Christ tenderly, but with signs that supported his plan of evangelization.

In 1918 he settled in Los Angeles, where he formed his base for his evangelistic ministry. In 1923, on January 1, inaugurated the Angelus Temple, this auditorium had the capacity to accommodate 5300 people. Aimee preached every day in this temple three times a day. The evangelism meetings were filled and thousands of souls were led into the tender arms of Jesus. In 1927 he founded the International Foursquare Gospel Church.

Aimee preached to everyone equally, presented them with a gospel without respect for people, without racial barriers; He evangelized in the poor neighborhoods and in many of his services became members of the Ku Klux Klan. He had a special grace to evangelize among the gypsy people who accepted the message of salvation that Aimee presented to them.

She firmly believed that she should use the media and not lose any means or opportunity to preach Christ to as many people as possible. In 1922, she bought a radio station and thus became the first woman to obtain a radio license.

She was affectionately known as "sister McPherson", loved by many and criticized by others who did not share her striking and controversial methods to evangelize. Aimee dedicated her life to present Christ in a way not usual for the time, evangelized as many as she could, using all the resources that could be put in front of her.

He died on September 27, 1944 at the age of 54, as he prepared for the dedication of a new temple in Oakland, California.

Inspiration

Aimee inspires us to proclaim the good news of the gospel with love and tenderness, she was a woman with plans to evangelize, her task was strong to carry out this plan.

His way of bringing them the message of salvation was to present Christ with tenderness, but with signs that supported his plan of evangelization.

I used the media, an important fact in this day, the Internet is a powerful tool to preach the gospel.

In Blockchain we can continue to bring the freedom of speech to this present generation.
