The antidiluvian society was very prosperous materially, but very devoid of God

A special greeting to all members of SteemChurch and Steemchurch-telos!

Among the most important things in this world are health, graduation, employment, marriage, home ownership, entertainment, etc. Nothing abnormal about these things, but we must remember that we were not created to dedicate ourselves exclusively to this. God has in mind to establish a deep relationship with us. To enjoy only material goods, without considering God in our existence, will completely compromise our eternity!

In the Bible we have an account of the generation of Noah who lived indifferent to spiritual matters. The antidiluvian society was very prosperous materially, but very devoid of God. They do not know who God is in fact, his love, justice and mercy. They were totally distracted in their professional activities and amusements that they did not have time to dedicate themselves to the Creator. That generation had received a promise concerning salvation. God promised to send a Savior to the world so that, through him, we would be saved from the sin that came through Adam and Eve. All who believed in this promise before the arrival of the Savior would be saved. They had a hope. How should they behave? In 1 John 3.3 we read: "And whoever has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure." But about Noah's contemporaries we read: "The earth, however, was corrupted before the face of God, and the earth was filled with violence" (Genesis 6.

God is faithful . For more than two thousand years, God has fulfilled the promise of salvation by sending Christ to the world. In Romans 4.25 we read: "Who for our sins was delivered up, and rose again for our justification." In Hebrews 5.9 we read "And when he was finished, he became the cause of eternal salvation to all who obey him"; Now we have another promise made by Christ himself: He will return at any time to bring those who believed and obey his Word. In Hebrews 10:37 we read: "For yet a little while, and what shall come shall come, and shall not delay."

Could it be that our generation is very different from Noah's? Is the salvation provided by Christ taken into account? In Luke 17.26-30 Christ Himself declared: "And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man." They ate, drank, married, and gave in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came, and consumed them all, as in the same way it happened in the days of Lot: they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, and they built, but the day Lot left Sodom it rained from fire and brimstone, and he consumed them all: so shall it be in the day when the Son of man shall be revealed "(Luke 17.26-30)

In 2 Timothy 3.2-4 it is written: "For there will be men who love themselves, greedy, presumptuous, proud, blasphemous, disobedient to fathers and mothers, ungrateful, profane, without natural affection, which is not love for the good, traitors. , obstinate, proud, more friends of the delights than friends of God. "Who would subsist to the Judgment of God in these circumstances? In Psalms 1.5 we read: "Therefore the wicked will not stand in judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous." The only way to be free from the great judgment is to have our sins forgiven. It is written: "Repent, and every one of you shall be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2.38).

In Mark 1.4 we also read: "John appeared baptizing in the wilderness, and preaching the baptism of repentance, for the remission of sins." The message of Christ was spread throughout the world in obedience to the commandment that he had given to his disciples, telling them: "Throughout the world, preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. "(Mark 16.15,16)

A special message to the saved

In Hebrews 2.1-3 we read: "He agrees with more diligence for the things we have already heard, so that at some time we deviate from them, because if the word spoken by the angels remained firm, and all transgression and disobedience received the just retribution, as we will escape, if we do not look for such a great salvation, which, beginning to be announced by the Lord, was later confirmed to us by those who heard it. "Then the great question is: are we already saved? This is the most important issue in the world, precisely because it refers to all of our eternity.
