Current research shows that the data from the canonical gospels about Jesus are
based on brief compilations of their sayings and their deeds, in the testimonies of their
disciples and in the experiences of witnesses who knew him personally. Through these
texts, testimonies and knowledge of the geographical, social, political and
religious of his time, you can affirm the following information about Jesus of Nazareth

Jesus was born during the reign of King Herod. He was the son of José and María.
He was a Jew from Galilee (Nazareth). According to the tradition of the Church, he was born in Bethlehem. its Mother tongue was Aramaic.
He was baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River.
He knew well the religious traditions of his people, taught in synagogues and was distinguished with the treatment of rabbi (teacher) during his public activity.
