Why should Christians imitate Christ? They must do it for their own good. If you want to be spiritually healthy to flee from the disease of sin and to enjoy the vitality of a growing grace, Jesus must be your model.

For the sake of their own happiness, if they wish to drink more deeply of their best wine, if they want to enjoy a holy and happy communion and unity with Jesus, and if they want to elevate it above the worries and problems of this world. , they must "live as he [Jesus] lived."

        To have a pious walk to heaven nothing will help you so much as to carry the image of Jesus in your heart and allow him to govern your emotions.

You will be the happiest being and in the best way you will exhibit your son's quality if you walk with Jesus following his footsteps, strengthened by the power of his Holy Spirit. On the other hand, if you walk away from him, you will feel restless and insecure.

Then, try to be like Jesus for the sake of the gospel. Oh, poor gospel, you have suffered cruel attacks from your enemies but it has not been anything compared to the wounds that your friends gave you! Who produced the wounds in the sweet hands of godliness?

It was the professed believer who used the dagger of hypocrisy. And those who enter the fold fraudulently, who are nothing but wolves "disguised as sheep" (Matthew 7:15), disturb the flock more than a lion from the outside.

There is no weapon as deadly as a "kiss of Judas." Professing believers who are incoherent and inconstant produce more harm to the gospel than the atheist or the scathing critic.

Finally, imitate the example of Christ especially for the sake of Christ himself. Dear Christian, do you love your Savior? Is your name precious to you? Is your cause truly important to you? Do you want the kingdoms of this world to belong to you? Is it your wish that he be glorified? Do you long for souls to be won for him?
