If it happen to Jesus, it should happen to YOU part 1

Water Baptized, Open Heaven, Receive the Holy Spirit and have a voice from heaven saying God is well pleased with you.

Mat 3:16 “And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased”

Many improper interpretations of the Bible concerning Jesus, come from not separating when Jesus was being our example and when He was the Messiah, God’s Sacrifcial Lamb. None of us are to be literally nailed to a cross. We are not meant to be scourged with the Roman whip. Our death will not produce salvation for many. We are not God in the flesh! But somethings Jesus did foe one reason only! To show us the same road we should take as believers and His followers.

For example Water Baptism

Water baptism is the baptism unto repentance. Jesus had nothing to repent of. John the Baptist knew this and even refused to baptize Jesus.
Mat 3:13 “Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?

John forbade Him! John protested! John knew his baptism was for repentance. The perfect, spotless Lamb of God does not need water baptism.

Mat 3:15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

Jesus did this as an example to all who follow Him. We should repent and be baptized.
Have you been baptized in water since you believed?

Baptism unto repentance

Act 19:4 “Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.”

Mat 3:6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.

Mat 3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

Mat 3:6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.

Have you ever been to a water baptism where people came confessing their sins? This was a move of God! Many historians maintain that John baptized near a million people during his ministry. John had no advertising, no business card. “Will preach only require locusts and wild honey!”
Many say repentance is works and salvation is free! Nevertheless, Jesus, Peter, Paul all preached repentance.

2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Peter says here repentance is required to keep a person from perishing.

The order of these things we are speaking of here can be juggled by God. Some say you have to be water baptized so you can receive the Holy Spirit, but God can be God and break the order of things.

Act 10:44 “While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Cornelius and those present in his house received the Holy Spirit, then were baptized in water.

Have you been baptized in water since you believed?
Many religions baptize infants and this is not based on bible, it is not scriptural. So if you were baptized as an infant, this baptism is not valid and you should prayerfully consider being baptized in water.
Mar 16:16 “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
Notice believed (first) and then baptized. Belief is first before a valid water baptism.

This is the first of a few messages all around this time as Jesus is baptized as an example to the rest of us. The other things that happened to Jesus are also for us!

Please join in this series. Like you are sitting in my living room and we are studying the Bible together!
God bless! Respectful comments of any kind are welcome.

Acts 1:5 where Jesus says to his disciples, “John baptized with water, but before many days you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” Then in verse 8 he says, “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses.” The fulfillment of these two promises came on the day of Pentecost.

Acts 2:2–4 says, “And suddenly a sound came from heaven like the rush of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributed and resting on each one of them and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

Part 3 I am going to speak of the baptism in the Holy Spirit and Fire. Water baptism is still valid and part of the process for believers today, but as you say Jesus is the baptized with the Holy Spirit and Fire.
Amen brother!
God bless!

Water baptism gives us the chance to be immersed, to be wholly dipped in water and be born as a new creature, Just like John TBE Baptist did to Jesus
When we've been baptized by both the spirit and by water then we become sons and daughters of God, to witness and to do exploits

Amen! We follow the pattern set for a demonstrated for us by Jesus!
God bless!

Dear Daddy William @mhm-philippines,

I really am enjoying your series on baptism.

Those who do not hold to the doctrine of baptism by immersion, do not know the Hebrew roots of the Christian faith.

A mikvah is a bath used for the purpose of ritual immersion in Judaism to achieve ritual purity.

Immersion in the mikvah has offered a gateway to purity ever since the creation of man. The rabbinical belief is that after being banished from Eden, Adam sat in a river that flowed from the garden. This was an integral part of his teshuvah (repentance) process, of his attempt at return to his original perfection.

Before the revelation at Sinai, all Israelites were commanded to immerse themselves in preparation for coming face to face with God.

In the desert, the famed “well of Miriam” served as a mikvah. And Aaron and his sons’ induction into the priesthood was marked by immersion in the mikvah.

In Temple times, the priests as well as each Israelite who wished entry into the House of God had first to immerse in a mikvah.

On Yom Kippur, the holiest of all days, the High Priest was allowed entrance into the Holy of Holies, the innermost chamber of the Temple, into which no other mortal could enter. This was the zenith of a day that involved an ascending order of services, each of which was preceded by immersion in the mikvah.

Shalom, Bro. Steven @lastdays

Wow! This excites me and I love the washing in preparation to meet with God! You bring so much to the table! Not a snack, but a meal!
Thank you so much for participating and sharing the Jewish believer’s view!
Shalom!

Dear Daddy William,

The greatest blessing for a person with the spiritual gift of teaching is sharing that gift with an eager learner.

Your gracious response is very encouraging to me.

Todah Rabah, Steven

We are Christians, Christ-like. We follow the footsteps of our dear Lord. It's only reasonable to hunger and thirst for that which he possessed during his time on earth. Baptism through water and the filling of the Holy Spirit is an evidence of a true believer. Nice words mhm-philliplines

Thank you for your comments! Amen!

When you are a christain, dnt think each one will like you. You will have alot of persecutors around. Jesus sufferred on earth before accending to paradise.

Jesus was batised while on earth, so additionally we as christain, we should be batised to satisfy the sacred text.

Amen! The scripture says, “All that lead a godly life will suffer persecution.”
God bless!

Yes, you are right. When you are a christain, dnt think every one will like you. You will have alot of persecutors around. Jesus sufferred on earth before accending to heaven.
Jesus was batised while on earth, so also we as christain, we need to be batised to fulfil
the scripture.
Thanks for sharing.

Amen! We follow the pattern of Jesus!
God bless!
