Jesus the Baptist (Don’t shoot me, look inside) part 3

Mat 3:11 “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

Jesus the Baptist

Or Jesus the baptizer
“He (Jesus) shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire” 🔥

I am doing this teaching on Baptisms in installments. To get the line of thinking, please read part 1 and 2, so that you will see how these are tied together and they are separate. Previously we looked at water baptism and now we will look at Holy Spirit and Fire baptisms.

Part 1 https://steemit.com/steemchurch/@mhm-philippines/if-it-happen-to-jesus-it-should-happen-to-you-part-1
Part 2 https://steemit.com/steemchurch/@mhm-philippines/if-it-happen-to-jesus-it-should-happen-to-you-part-2

I have found when the topic of baptism is brought up, many Christians begin to take side and even argue. Water baptism sprinkle or immersion? Holy Spirit baptism, at conversion or a second experience? Many have not studied the scriptures to find out, but just go along their denominational teachings. Well. I am a Baptist, or I am (any denomination). Really, the better thing is to see what the scriptures say. We cannot even go with our experience, unless our experience agrees with the written Word of God, the 66 books of the Holy Bible.

Imagine you are sitting in my living room. We all have our bibles open and we are all learning together. We esteem on another above ourselves and we acknowledge that each is sincere in wanting to know the Truth and follow Jesus to the max.

Luk 3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire: Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.

Baptism

In the time Jesus walked the earth, baptize or baptism was a well known word. It was not a religious term, but an every day term.

Strong’s
βαπτίζω

baptizō

bap-tid'-zo

From a derivative of G911; to make whelmed (that is, fully wet); used only (in the New Testament) of ceremonial ablution, especially (technically) of the ordinance of Christian baptism: - baptist, baptize, wash.

It was the word used for those who die cloth. When you baptized a white garment or cloth in red die, the white cloth became fully saturated and had the exact likeness of the die in which it was immersed.

It is the same root word as (baptize) in water baptism. Fully wet! Again like dying a a garment.

One of the things I love about the Lord, He requires the impossible from us, knowing it is impossible without His help. So what He does is provide help for us (grace) to help us every step of the way. One of the Names of the Holy Spirit is our Helper.

The Holy Spirit is our Comforter, Teacher, Helper.

This is how the Holy Spirit revealed this baptism to me. I am OK if you disagree with me, but please make sure you don’t disagree with the scriptures based on denominational biased. It is the Truth that sets us free! We have to build our life wisely upon the Rock of God’s Word, not what we are taught, but what the scriptures reveal.

The Holy Spirit is our Paraklet or Helper. He is the One Who leads into all truth.

When Jesus was baptized in water, He was baptized by John in the river Jordan! By the words used, I would say He was fully immersed in the water.

Now imagine another kind of river.
The Holy Spirit River
And a river of Holy Spiirt Fire

Remember in the time Jesus walked the earth, baptize was not a religious term. It was a term used by cloth merchants who would dye cloth or clothing.
Let me ask a silly question. If a red dye was used, would the white cloth immersed in the red dye come out blue?
The garment is left in the dye long enough to produce the exact same attributes of the dye that it was baptized in. A red dye produces a red cloth. A blue dye produces a blue cloth.

This is the wonderful part of God’s plan! He immerses us in the Holy Spirit, so we fully take on the attributes of the Holy Spirit. Who is the Baptizer? Jesus! Imagine Jesus standing in a river, but this river is the Holy Spirit. And Jesus grabs a hold of you and puts you under the flow. And He holds you there until the attributes of the Holy Spirit are evident in your life experientially.

Joh 7:37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
Joh 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
Joh 7:39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

Do you have living waters flowing from your belly?

Immersed in the Holy Spirit until you look like Him

Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Eph 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

God demands Holiness! At the same time He knows we cannot live righteous and holy lives. He gives us the Holy Spirit and immerses us in Him until we are like Him.

Religion is where we try in our own strength to be holy! True holiness is a work from the inside, that produces right living on the outside.

Eph 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

This is where I will end this!
Please comment and be blessed! We will continue and discuss the controversial questions soon.

Dear Daddy William @mhm-philippines,

As you pointed out in part 2 of your series, "If Jesus suffered to get me some benefit, I want to take full advantage of what He obtained for me."

If it happened to Jesus it should happen to me :

We should be baptized in water.
We should have the Holy Spiirt come and rest upon us and stay.
We should experience an open heaven
We should have a voice from heaven saying this is my son or daughter, in whom I am well pleased.

Most Christians fall short of desiring the next step:

But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. 1 Peter 4:13

The Word of God encourages us to stand firm in the face of trials. Jesus came to baptize with the Holy Spirit and fire. The fires of persecution purify the bride.

Am a little bit indifferent on this one, what do you have to say about Christian who have the Holy Spirit but are still doing the wrong thing ?

There are alwsys imposters. Jesus said that a true tree or believer is known by its fruit. A person with the Holy Spiirt will have proof. They will be like the Holy Spirit. His character born into their lives. A person who says they have the Holy Spirit and does not have Love or self control. More or less is an impostor. The other thing is the Holy Spirit has been giving ti us, we have the choice whether or no to receive and act upon His council. It is like owning a hammer and still using a rock to drive a nail. You have the proper tools, but don’t. Use the tools properly. The empowerment of the Holy Spiirt is one of the most important things that Jesus went to accomplish.
“Joh 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.”
Almost all of the final teachings of Jesus just before His death was focused on the Holy Spiirt.
I also see that many of the errors today come out groups that claim an empowerment of the Holy Spiirt.
But. No matter our feelings, what do the scriptures say.
They say Jesus is the baptizzer of the Holy Spirit and Fire. God said He would pour out His Spiirt on all flesh. From the day of Pentecost until now, He has been pouring out His Spirit. If we don’t have this empowerment, we are living be,in what Christ obtained for us on the Cross.
