Joh 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

How could this possibly be? How could it be best for His disciples that Jesus go away? How could anything be better than having Emmanuel, God in the flesh right in front of them, where they could touch Him see Him, hear His teachings, watch His miracles and they could at any time ask Him any question and immediately receive an answer?

“I will send another comforter, just like Me”

Joh 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

The original language says, I will send another Comforter, just like Me”

While Jesus was clothed in human flesh, He was limited to one place and one audience at a time.

Side note:
Some argue and don’t understand about the Holy Spirit. Some say the Spirit is just a force or an essence of God. If we could get away from what we have been taught by our denominations. Away from what we have been taught that is not scriptural. If we have to go through some sort of complicated study or completely ignore bible passages, most likely our belief is merely the teachings of men.

The Bible clearly teaches that the Holy Spirit is God.

Here the Apostle Peter equates lying to the Holy Spirit the same as lying to God.

Act 5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
Act 5:4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

Back to our text in John 14. These are the Words of Jesus

Joh 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

This is how it is better than having Jesus stand right in front of His Apostles. He died, rose again, ascended and on the day of Pentecost sent His Spirit to be available to be with and in every believer.
According to the verse not everyone receives this Spirit, Only the followers of Jesus.

Joh 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
Joh 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

Jesus comes to us through the Spirit. He can be in me where I am in the Philippines and in you wherever you are. This is the better off, even for His disciples. A constant presence of Christ, of the Divine in our lives. With us “Forever”

Verse 18 Jesus said, “I will come to you”
Verse 19 Jesus said, “After I leave the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me”.

Through the abiding Spirit we can interact with Yashua Hamachia, Jesus Christ.

Our Christianity is supposed to be an experience, a reality, a love affair with God as we begin to keep the first command to love Him with all of our heart, soul, strength and mind.

We love Him because He first loved us! The only way this is possible is if we experienced this love, truly received this love.

Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Vs 21 Jesus said, “I will MANIFEST myself to Him

The sad thing is most of us are living way way way below what is promised to us in the scriptures. We have sit in churches and read books or watched YouTube and are filled with doctrines, many that are not biblical. Every one of us need to put down the other literature, turn off the TV, shut off every influence and open the Bible, ask God to reveal the Truth to us. “You will know the Truth and the Truth will make you free.

2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2Ti 2:16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

Our Walk with God is an experience where we begin to experience heaven while we are still on this earth.

• We can know we are completely forgiven
• We can know we are truly God’s sons and daughters
• We can experience the Love of God
• We can have Peace
• We can have the Joy of the Lord
• We can hear His Voice
• We can see and gaze upon Jesus
• We have access to the Holy of Holies
