STEEMCHURCH: CHRIST COMES FOR A HOLY CHURCH

Christ comes for a holy Church, but what will that mean? Do we really know what that statement means? What does the Bible say?

Many say that because of Jesus' sacrifice we are free and since we are no longer under the law, we have nothing to do as we go through life, but wait for Him to come for His Church.

According to modern Christianity, we need only repeat a prayer inviting Christ to enter our hearts and we will obtain eternal life.

But is it true that it's that simple? Could it be that Christ who came to this world not only to die for us to save us, but to show us by example how to live in holiness, will be willing to accept a church that lives in sin?

If, as many say, we no longer have to keep the commandments, we will be in sin, because sin is the transgression of the law, and sin is the opposite of holiness, so what are we left with?

It is quite interesting because these same Christians insist that the Law is for the Jews, that the tithes and offerings are for the Jews, that keeping the Sabbath is for the Jews, that the tribulation will be only for the Jews, but salvation is for Christians. The point is that if all of the above is only for the Jews, then Salvation is only for the Jews as well, because in which part of the Bible is Christianity demarcated from all the principles of God?

Here it is not about who are Christians or Jews, first because as the Bible says in Christ we are one people (Galatians 3:28).

Here it is about the principles of God that will always be the same because God does not change, he says in Malachi 3: 6, Psalm 33:11 and Hebrews 13: 8, the only thing that changes are his methods, but not his principles.

Likewise, with the New Covenant he did not abolish any of his principles that identify him as sovereign God but he modified the system to achieve his goals. In the New Covenant, God changed the method of sacrifice, the seal of the covenant and the location of his commandments. As for the sacrifice, while in the Old Covenant animals were sacrificed as atonement for sins, in the New Covenant it is Christ the perfect and spotless lamb who was sacrificed once and for all for all the past sins of those who choose to accept it, opening the way to the Father for the repentance and forgiveness of the new ones.

In the Old Covenant people were circumcised as a sign of it, whereas now, the seal of the New Covenant is the Holy Spirit of Christ who enters to dwell in those who obey His Word (Colossians 2:11, Philippians 3: 3). And finally, while in the Old Covenant, there were the laws of God written on tablets of stone, today it is the Holy Spirit who seals the law of God in the hearts of those who decide to recognize Christ as their Lord and Savior (Jeremiah 31: 31-33).

CHRIST COMES FOR A HOLY CHURCH

Christ will come for an irreproachable and blameless church, meaning that Christ will come for a holy church, as the Bible says in Ephesians 5:27, and it is not optional but obligatory. The Word is very clear when it says that without holiness no one will see God, (Hebrews 12:14). It is true that Jesus died for our sins, but we have a commitment to be faithful to his Word, to respect his immutable principles and to keep his commandments, because whoever says otherwise is not even saved.

We have to be holy and the only one who sanctifies us is the Holy Spirit, that is why we need the Spirit of Christ in us and the one who does not have the Spirit of Christ is not from Him (Romans 8: 9), because it is the Holy Spirit He who seals, but only to those who obey God (Acts 5:32).

When we say that there is no law, we are ignoring the authority of Christ and remember that it is Christ who gives us Salvation in such a way that by not knowing his authority we are simply not saved. Christ himself gave us an example of obedience. Let's see what Hebrews 5: 8-9 says, "And even though he was a Son, he learned obedience because of what he suffered; and having been perfected, he became the author of eternal salvation for all who obey him. "

A HOLY CHURCH, SAVE YOUR COMMANDMENTS

Jesus Christ was emphatic in this aspect and the first thing he said was that he did not come to abolish the Law but to emphasize it, so that it may be fulfilled (Matthew 5:17).

Christ comes for a Holy Church, and the holiness that God demands in his Church, has to do with obedience.

Without holiness nobody will see God, it is necessary that Christ comes and finds his church without stains. thanks for this post
