STEEMCHURCH - DAY #01 BEATITUDES MATTHEW 5: 3

in #steemchurch6 years ago

A warm greeting Dear friends and brothers
Welcome to my blog
God bless you!

how not to love this beautiful community of @steemchurch, if each day we learn more about the word of God, and how not to love my family of @sc-v #steemchurchVenezuela, if the word of God is taken to each corner, bringing love and salvation to all people, today I join this great initiative of our dear apostle @darlenys01 on the Beatitudes of Our Lord Jesus Christ and in honor of our dear leader @sirknight

I want to tell you dear friends and brothers that all the Beatitudes of our Lord Jesus are beautiful with great promises for your children, but in this opportunity I will be speaking about:

Matthew 5: 3

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

The word "beatitudes" comes from the word MAKARIOS which means "happy", but it has to do mainly with what God thinks of us. It is said that the word MAKARTOS was used among the Greeks to describe the joy of the gods, a joy beyond all care. A poor person in spirit is not someone with low esteem or a quiet and introverted person. It also does not refer to the people who suffer and those who are oppressed, rejected and abused. Why all these situations are also experienced by unbelievers and the Lord would never praise the world for its miseries.

When we say "poor" this word denotes absolute and public poverty. With this in mind and the distinction made by our Lord in saying "poor in spirit", it is clear that we are not talking about a material or earthly poverty, but a spiritual one.

Now I ask you, Who is a poor person in spirit?

The "poor in spirit" recognizes their sins, repents and seeks forgiveness from God. It is the opposite of the desire to justify oneself

A good example of being "poor in spirit" we see in:

Luke 18:13
But the publican, being far away, did not even want to look up to heaven, but beat his chest, saying: God, be merciful to me, a sinner.
He said, "God, be merciful to me, sinner." He recognized that he was in "spiritual bankruptcy"

destitute of the glory of God (Rom 3:23), and he wanted God's forgiveness.

Romans 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God,

He is a person who recognizes his spiritual misery in the presence of God. A poor person in spirit is the one who knows that he is spiritually ruined when we are without God. It is he who is devoid of all virtue and recognizes his total poverty before the Lord. It refers to the deep humility of recognizing the absolute spiritual bankruptcy of oneself, when we are separated from God. The poor in spirit exhibit genuine humility and are stripped of all pride.

From here we understand that the poor in spirit does not trust in himself, but rather seeks grace and mercy with despair. This contrasts with the spirit of the world that tells us: Trust in you. The poor in spirit also does not boast of their progress or their achievements and, in recognizing their baseness, looks upon others as superiors. These are the blessed ones. These are happy.

the word of God show us this kind of humility in several men of the people of God. From Moses who did not dare to continue to the promised land if God did not go with him (Exodus 33:15).

15 And Moses said, If your presence is not to go with me, do not remove us from here.

Isaiah also recognized his filth with terror as he contemplated the vision of God on His throne (Isaiah 6) and even Peter, who, overwhelmed by his sinfulness, prostrated himself humbled before the Lord (Luke 5: 8).

8 When Simon Peter saw this, he fell on his knees before Jesus, saying, "Get away from me, Lord, because I am a sinful man.

All of them recognized their spiritual misery, they were all humble men and dependent on divine grace. They were poor in spirit.

we can conclude that bliss ends with the promise "because of them is the kingdom of heaven". That is to say that only those who understand their sinful condition and recognize their spiritual ruin are those who approach humiliated to God and are received in His kingdom.

God bless you Dear family @sc-v

Good teaching my brother Mosdad! We are already blessed to receive the illumination of the word beatitude and its origin in Greek. Thanks for sharing

thank you for reading my dear brother @emiliocabrera, we are blessed by the word of God, and this promise that is in Matthew 5: 3 is for us his children, and we must declare it this way, and we will inherit the kingdom of heaven, God bless you

Poor in spirit, you need to depend directly on God in all your needs. It is not with sword or army but with his Holy Spirit. Blessings.

So he is a brother, not with a sword or with an army, but with his holy spirit. He is not one of those who want and can but of whom God has mercy.

Following God is a great gift. We are royal priest and rich

this is how ambassadors of Christ on earth we should always raise his standard of holiness, justice and love

Thanks for sharing humility is humanity.
