STEEMCHURCH - WHY ARE THOSE WOUNDS? - A PROPHECY
Welcome to my blog
God bless you!
They will ask you: What wounds are these on your hands? And he will answer: With them I was wounded in my friends' house.
Zechariah 13: 6
Jesus came, and placed in the middle, he said: Peace to you. And he showed them his hands and his side. And the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.
John 20: 19-20
Four centuries before the coming of Jesus to the earth, the prophet Zechariah had announced that one day the Christ would be asked: "What wounds are these in your hands?". This prophecy has not yet been fulfilled, but it will be fulfilled when the believers in Israel become aware that the Messiah they are waiting for is the Lord Jesus, the one whom their ancestors crucified. With sadness they will recognize that they themselves are those "friends" in whose house the Messiah was wounded. They will understand that those indelible scars are proof of God's love for them. The Lord will speak to them and they will be induced to repent, but also to worship. They will rejoice like the disciples of Jesus who "rejoiced" to see him.
This meeting with his repentant people is still future. But today, when Christians gather around the Lord on Sunday to celebrate the memorial of his death, Jesus is spiritually there in their midst.
Matthew 18:20
Because where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am in their midst.
In a way, Jesus shows them the scars of his hands and feet, marks of the crucifixion. He presents the bread and the cup as a reminder of his sufferings and of his life offered in sacrifice for his sins.
1 Corinthians 11:26
Therefore, as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the death of the Lord until he comes.
This is my brother @mosdad, the holy dinner reminds us, we are waiting for the second coming of the Lord.
