There are many kingdom people who diligently pay their tithes and give offerings, but who things are still not well with, because this block is missing from their covenant walk

Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. - Exodus 20:12

Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)
That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

  • Ephesians 6:2-3

It is neither well with some believers who are great givers, nor with their homes, businesses and careers because they are dishonouring their parents. "A son honours this father..åfter then I be a father, where is mine honour!" (Mal. 1:6). God has given our parents a covenant place in our lives that we can't afford to toy with. Honouring them is a command from God, and it is the first commandment with a promise attached to it.

You are to honour your parents by relating well with them d caring for their needs. You can't be eating so well and all in affluence while your parents are suffering hunger d deprivation. God says it won't be well with you, no an natter what you give to Him and His kingdom. You are breaking the hedge, and the serpent must bite.

Some live in very big houses in the cities, but their parents are sick and live in huts, with leaking roofs in the village. No! It can't be well with you living like this.

You should cater for your parents according to the level that the Lord has blessed you. You don't have the fattest calves in your flock and take the blind and the lame to them. You don't take friends to five-star hotels but send some miserable amount of money to them as though they well beggars. Our parents carry special blessings for us which are released as we relate well with them. Remember how Isaac blessed

Jacob after he had eaten the venison he made for him? (Gen. 27) Our caring well for our parents is that venison that will release the blessings for us. Visit them regularly and place them on your regular budget, not on a once-in-awhile, hit and miss budget.
I know that some of our parents have done us wrong in time past. But that is in the past. With your knowledge of God and His ways, you should put it behind you and go forward through obedience. The Bible tells us that:

Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall b put out in obscure darkness.
An inheritance may be gotten hastily at the beginning; but the end thereof shall not be blessed.
Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD and he shall save thee. Proverbs 20:20-22

No matter what they have done to you in the past, that does not give you the licence to dishonour them. According to God's Word and wisdom, you are not permitted to retaliate Leave it to God to handle. This is especially for children from polygamous or separated homes, where one parent has poisoned their minds against the other You are now a new creature; old things are passed away, and all things are become new.

After teaching on this subject in church, some members obeyed the Word of the Lord and put things right with their parents, and they had diverse kinds of testimonies of blessings and healings to share. Don't break the hedge; go and put things right, so you can be prosperous and live long on earth. Until you start doing what God commands, you'll keep struggling, no matter how much you give. Note also that your parents don't have to be in need or a problem before yo fulfill your covenant responsibility to them. It is a covenant demand that must be obeyed.

The bible adds that, that is the first commandment with a promise. That our days on earth will be long. When children honour their parents, it's also easier for them to honour elderly ones they meet in the society.

Honor begets honor. God will not honor those who will not obey His command to honor their parents. If we desire to please God and be blessed, we should honor our parents. Honoring is not easy, is not always fun, and certainly is not possible in our own strength. But honor is a certain path to our purpose in life—glorifying God. “Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord” (Colossians 3:20).

This is an incredible instructing, I am a minister of youngsters and kids and one of the primary classes that we provide for kids. The ability to respect your folks drives you to Honor Christ by setting your lives on a stone, and as my dear sibling composed, when you grow up, you won't swing to the Lord.

God exhorts us to honor father and mother. He values honoring parents enough to include it in the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:12) and again in the New Testament: “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother which is the first commandment with a promise, so that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth” (Ephesians 6:1-3). Honoring parents is the only command in Scripture that promises long life as a reward. Those who honor their parents are blessed (Jeremiah 35:18-19). In contrast, those with a “depraved mind” and those who exhibit ungodliness in the last days are characterized by disobedience to parents (Romans 1:30; 2 Timothy 3:2).

You honor your father and mother when you are thankful for all they have done for you. You can show your appreciation by valuing their guidance. ( Proverbs 7:1, 2; 23:26 ) The Bible encourages you to view your parents as your “glory,” that is, to be proud of them.— Proverbs 17:6 .

The pre-african tradition, there has been a long range of morality ans sanctity than it is obtainable these days.
Those days even without the bible and the gospel of our lord Jesus..children are taught to obey and respect their parent, failure by any one attract communal crititism,
This was because they knew the value and blessings attached to.
In the old testament before jacob, abraham and isaac ,and all fathers in general, before they die, they usually delegate thier blessings to thier children.in most cases the likes of Rubben will not be blessed but cursed.
What a mess.
If you are true to your parent, you will get to know where your family lands are..
There are many blessing and reason to obey our parent..
God help us all

nices posts thanks for sharing this posts!

When you honour your parents, your days will most definitely be long....
