On our Christian journey there may be times when we feel really burdened. These are moments in which we can find it difficult to read our Bible with enthusiasm, where the life-giving substance that the Word of God has to abound at the end of our meditation times is almost always desired. Our prayers seem to be more a monologue than a conversation with the great GOD. Or we may experience a severe restriction in a particular area: finances, studies, relationships and more. Often there are signs of a crossing of a desert area of our life.

These are times when it is not comfortable to stay. But to go beyond what we feel, we must learn to see these times as God sees them.

God loves the times of desert, because He operates great things in us during these moments. He says in his Word: "Therefore, I will reclaim her, take her into the desert and speak to her heart." (Hosea 2:16) Whether these difficulties are the fruit of our errors or the perfect and sovereign will of God , the Father in his love takes the opportunity to make a catalyst for our relationship with him, to be magnificent, we will agree, that is love.

The desert can teach us that what is essential is always what we can often take for granted: the presence of God with us. So let's analyze what happens in the desert a nomad:

The nomad throughout the day, the sun's rays attacked his face and the heat of the fine sand burned his feet. Thirst never stopped consuming his lips and drying his tongue. Tired, wandering through the desert, night falls. With it, a gentle breeze and a light travel through the desert and embrace the nomad like a blanket. It is then refuge in a fortune rock formation. At dusk, the gentle temperature regulated by the extension of the warm dunes and the fragile breeze lead him to think: "Even in the most sumptuous star hotels, no layer could provide so much comfort." Then in the desert, we learn to give thanks to God in all circumstances.

"Remember all the way that Jehovah your God has made you do these forty years in the wilderness, to humble yourself and test you, to know what were the dispositions of your heart and whether you keep his commandments or not." (Deuteronomy 8 : two)

One of the most difficult things to handle during a desert crossing is "How long?" The desert teaches us to live in expectation and cultivate confidence in the intervention of GOD. It is always important to remember how impatience can be a poison for our Christian walk. In the desert we learn to value what we have, and we learn to remember what God has already given us with gratitude.

"He humbled you, made you suffer from hunger, and fed you with the manna that you did not know and did not know your parents to teach you that man There is no bread, but the life of everything that comes out of the mouth of Jehovah. Deuteronomy 8: 3)

We should not remain in the desert, it is not God's will that we remain there. However, we must take advantage of these moments, when we are there, do not waste them unnecessarily. Let us have hearts waiting for God; let us cultivate gratitude to the Lord because he has already cut off as a hostile fortress on our way to the past; let us rejoice that God is bringing us closer to him, regardless of our merit, and keep in mind that the way out of the desert will be glorious.

Simply the desert is a school and we must successfully overcome the passage from the lower classes to the superiors.

In times of desert God, paradoxically, wants to draw us even closer to Him.

The desert teaches us to trust in GOD.

The desert teaches us patience, a fruit of the Spirit, therefore an indispensable fruit.

Very good Sister Nashilda, the desert is the opportunity we have to discover how far we can go in life when we overcome every obstacle that presents itself.
