BEARING GOOD FRUIT FOR CHRIST THROUGH OUR PERSONAL CHARACTER

Hello Parishioners, peace be on to you. This is another day God has made lets be glad and rejoyce.

Many Christians have it in mind that when you preach the good news to people that is the only way we are winning souls for Christ. But I tell you, it is beyond this, there are more into it than speaking only the word for people to repent. There is the saying that: "Action speaks louder than words."

One key thing we should all know is that, bearing good fruit for Christ onto others lives for them to know and draw near to our Lord Jesus Christ, involves portraying good character that is devoid of any stains, the righteous and holy life. Our characters that we demonstrate in our homes, work places, offices, our neighbouring houses, our communities even talk much about us than preaching and announcing and giving testimonies about Jesus Christ. There are kinds of good fruits that we should bear and this what the book of Galatians put it as: "The fruit of the Spirit."

GALATIANS 5:22-24KJV

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
And they that are Christ's have crusified the flesh with the affections and lusts."

• You bear good fruits whenever you love thy neighbour as thy self. By sharing the little one that you have with others, such as clothings and money. You should not laugh whiles others are crying. You should not mock on people who in abject poverty, whiles you have and can donate to the best of your strength. Good love is seeking and having feelings of others difficulties as yours. A good service to God is search for those orphans and widows to show them some kindness, but not to hide and keep what you have.

• You bear good fruit whenever you put joy or smile into others life. Yesterday in my post, we shared how to cheer yourself and others up. Some people may go through some trauma that may lead them into depression or insane, it is up to us as Parishioners and for that matter Christians to put that kind of joy or smiles into those people's lives. As Christians, we have many duties to accomprish which are beyond our surrounding only, we need to always extend our tentacles for others to see smile in their face. The best way of putting joy into people's life is cheering them up when they are in troubles, being in their shoes as if it were our teoubles. Sitting beside them and giving them some words of encouragement. Using a similar situations that have occured as example in relation to their problems, through this give them some word of God as their hope to the future, and not the present predicament.

• You bear good fruit whenever you live in peace with others too. Good Christian forgive his fellow no matter how several times his neighbour offend him. He cogitates about what the person did to him and say that: after all Christ first died for our sins, so I have forgiven him. If that happens, peace prevails. "Look at how beautiful it is for neighbours to live in peace" as the Psalmist said. There is a great peace established if someone rebukes hi neighbour. As Jesus Christ was leaving us on this earth what He said was: "Behold, I leave you with my peace, not what the world give to that I am giving to you." That is why He is called Prince of peace, so in Christ Jesus, there is always peace. It is also prudent for us all to pursue the spirit of peace. And those who fail to honour it will not get the portion of the Kingdom of heaven.

• You bear good fruit whenever you live in righteousness. Abstenance from sins is one of the ways Christians can use to win souls for Christ. Staying away from all social device such as: drunkerness, fornication, stealing, gossipping, and such things that drive us away from God. These are characters that cannot be hide from people, since as we engage ourselves in those social devices people would be watching us indirectly. We mingle with so many people in our community and most of them are our friends, they know the kind of life styles we are putting up yhat community. This shows that the first tool that can win soul for Christ before even going ahead to preach the word is our life style. And one of these is staying in righteousness. Our character talks a lot about ourselves, and this is what we are saying. I must say that our character is the primary apparatus that win soul for christ, and the word of God to preach to people for them to repent becomes the secondly apparatus.

The Galatians spellet out that above these spirit of fruits that we are talking about, there is no law. This means that to become holy or perfect in Christianity one cannot escape from the spirit of fruit . It is a neccessity for Christians exhibit good characters in order for others to emulate. There is the saying that: "show me your friend and I will show you my character."

Consequences mankind will face if we fail to bear good fruits:
Christians are like "the a parasites and their hosts." The parasites live inside or outside the bodies of their hosts, through which they get their nourishment. In returns, the hosts do not get any benefits, but they rather suffer from their parasites. Consequently, if the parasites are prevented to get feed from their hosts they will definately die. Christians are closely leaned to Jesus Christ who is the true vine( The fruit of the spirit), so if we depart from Him we will definately die or lose our way.

JOHN 15:1-7KJV

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he tajeth away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
Now you are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can you, except you abide in me.
I am the vine, you are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me you cannot do nothing.
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and wiltered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be unto you."

If we fail to bear good fruit, we become redundant to the purpose in which we were created, and therefore our father has to cast us from the branch. We will be of no value if we do not portray good character that will change other people character. Christians behaviours have a lot of impart on others who do not belong to Christ. High percentage of people have kept long accepting Jesus Christ as their personal saviour, since they have not seen any unique change in us.
