THE POWER OF PATIENCE
Greetings to all Parishioners of Steemchurch. This is another day God has made and lets be glad and rejoice.
GALATIANS 5:16-22
"But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."
We have heard the prayer: "Lord, make me more patience- and do it now!"
Why is it that patience vanishes when we are to attend some important functioning, such as our friend's marriage ceremony and we are being delayed because of our car damage on the way to that functioning? We become a little bit worry if been late to that marriage ceremony.
We should remember that, patience is not just a virtue, it is a fruit of the spirit(Gal. 5:22). Which means that demonstrations of impatience reveal the sour fruit of iur fallen hearts rather than the sweetness of Jesus in our lives. Since God is patience, when we abandon patience we miss the opportunity to show our world the glory of God through our lives.
Jacob had that patience to serve for seven years because he wanted to marry Rachel(Gen. 29:20). Today, how many of us have that patience to wait for that long years because of lady that we want to marry? Most of us can't do that.
Jacob saw that he wants something which is valuable and life long, therefore he neeeds to exercise patience before he can get it and that led him serve for seven years.
Beloved, what lesson do you learn from Jacob? Always we must have patience for valuable and life long materials. God's words is valuable and also everlasting for our souls, therefore how do you value? You have requested something in prayers which have not yet been fulfilled, you have to exercise patience, since God will surely fulfilled that promised.
2 THESSALONIANS 1:4-5
"Therefore we ourselves boast about you in the churches of God for your steadfastness and faith in all your persecutions and in the afflictions that you are enduring."
Everything demands patience and faith to be able to acquire something precious. What is our level of patience and faith in God as Christians? In most of daily request for something from God, we out our petitions before God and expect answers at that moment.
Sometimes, God test our level of patience and faith that is why He delays answers to our petitions. For patience brings success, so we must have patience in all manners of life as children of God.
Patience is the key, for our Father in heaven taught us patience in all our doings. Thanks for sharing @oppongk.
