Giving Is God's Way Of Life | 5 Reasons Why We Should Give To Others In Need

Today, you and I will take a quick look at a very important topic tagged "Giving Is God's Way Of Life | 5 Reasons Why We Should Give To Others In Need". Is giving really God's way of life??. Absolutely yes. In the book of John 3 vs 16, we find that God gave us His only begotten son to come and die for our sake. Now comes the important question;...How many of You will actually give your only child to die?.. You agree with me that it's almost impossible. God loved His son Jesus but the only thing He could do to save mankind was to give Jesus as a Ransom. Giving is God's nature and we are His children .

This means the best we can do is to also help others in need as God helped mankind when they were in need and of course, God is still helping till today. A lot of people are not as lucky to eat three square meals a day . A lot of other people cannot even boast of having two clothes in their ward robe while some others are just like the woman in the Bible waiting patiently to eat their last meal and die. The good good question in all this is "What are you doing to help the situation of those around you". It is often said that nobody cares how much you know until they see/know how much you care. So today, I am going to enumerate few points on why we should learn to lend a helping hand to those in need.

5 Reasons Why We Should Give To Others In Need

The following are some of the few points you need to know on why you should give to others in need.

Firstly, it is important to note that when you help people in need, you help in lifting their spirits and serve as source of inspiration to them. Giving to them means you understand what they are going through that moment probably because you have gone through that same road before or because you just believe that the tough time they are passing through won't last. It serves to tell them it is tough people that actually last in the long run. So when you offer to help those in need, it is beautiful to understand it from angle that you believe in them to rise from their current situation.

Secondly, helping others in need that can serve as a way of life and pattern for those who are watching us. I used to have a very God friend sometimes ago who is the definition of stinginess. The girl just never gives but finds every possible way to get from you. But I wasn't just concerned with her behaviours, I continued to help her whenever it is in my power to do so. It got to a point , I began to notice some changes with her. She was changing positively. She could sacrifice her last meal just to make someone happy. Then it occurred to me that doing the right thing does influence people around you. Likewise, there are some kids that are so selfish from childhood later grow up with that spirit. Most times it's not hereditary, it is as a result of what they have seen their parents do over time. So if you don't want to your children to go down that kind of road, you could just take time to learn to give to others.

Thirdly, another important reason why you should help the needy is because it helps you to become a better giver. Some people don't know how to give at all, some others can give to a certain extent while some other people cannot go a day without giving. They are always moved with compassion when they see people suffering and are drawn to alleviate their sorrows. The goal of the Christian is to keep getting better at whatever we do. We cannot relent in doing good to others. Giving to others helps you to keep giving at all times and of course, it makes God to keep blessing you.

Fourthly, it is necessary to give because it is indeed a rare privileged from God that we have in abundance. A lot of people don't give because they think that all they have acquired was through their own hard-work. They will tell you they toiled day and night before they got to where they are currently. Yea, hard-work is a factor but the labourer labour's in vain if the Lord does not approve of it. So it is God together with our hard-work that produced results that we crave for. Therefore it is very important never to forget that factor and we should of course give because all we have got is a privilege from God.

Lastly, but of course not obviously the least, we should give because we never know how much impact that little giving may have done to the life of the needy. Last time out of shared a content on a certain man who was in debt and of course ran into a moving truck and got himself killed. Imagine his total debt was 1000SBD And I happened to see him and give him just 3 SBD from off it, it is possible he would not have taken his life. Well it is still possible he would have seen it as not enough for a start but if I were you I would have loved to give it a try. Therefore, you may never know the kind of impact you are not making in the life of people if you don't learn how to give to others. You can do a fund raiser for a community project, you can visit the orphanage, you can just help random people who come for help and all that and in such a way you will be making impact in your own little way.

I hope the message touched a nerve??

I always knew that it is better to give than to receive, I think that when we give our best to our neighbor, we also give God a fragrant smell. When we give to the needy this pleases God, since He prepared us beforehand for every good work. God bless you brother

Giving pleases God makes Him give us too

Thank you Apostle, it is indeed a privilege to give, the Bible says that there's more blessing to give than to receive.

According to the Bible, abundant blessings imply weighty responsibilities; "for everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more" (Luke 12:48). The message is clear: our possessions are to be used not merely for our own enjoyment but for the benefit of the world around you. "Freely you have received, freely give" (Matthew 10:8).

Of course, this doesn't mean that giving is to be approached as a grim, oppressive duty. "Let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver" (2 Corinthians 9:7). Our responsibility to give is primarily a response to God's generosity. It's an expression of joy and gratitude for the bounty of God's goodness – like the gift of the woman who demonstrated her indebtedness to Jesus by anointing His feet with a jar of costly ointment. She loved much, Jesus said, because she had been forgiven much (Luke 7:47).

Giving is not the problem for many christians, the problem is are you giving from your heart?? The bible say about the Widow that has no money.
Mark 12:42-44.

  1. And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
[43] And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
[44] For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all as her living...

Christians, do what the bible say if we must give, give with a smile on our face, let our heart be glad for this is what Jesus is saying in Mark 12.

Wherever we put our money, that is where out heart is. If our money is in investments that is where our heart is, if our money is in our house that is where our heart is, if our money is in our career then that is where your heart is and if my money is in the house of the Lord then that is where my heart is.

See Money is like a magnet - where ever we put it, it tends to pull our hearts.

When I give money to God its like a magnet it pulls us closer to God.

So that means if my treasure or my finances is going to God, then my heart is getting closer to Him.

Every time we give - it draws us closer to God.

Giving is the nature and characteristic of God.

The Bible says in John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son. God gave His best because He loves you and I.

Thank you so much for the contribution

There is no better fulfillment than giving to those who are in need. God makes us to understand that through giving, we get eternal fulfillment that can only come from Him. It always brings joy to my soul seeing the happiness on the faces of the less privileged who have benefitted from my giving. It brings an unparalleled sense of fulfillment that an extraordinary feat cannot bring. Giving is a major role of our lives as Christians, without it, our faith is deemed shallow because Christ devoted his life to those who have less.

That's true mate

Giving brings happiness to both the giver and the givee.....hahaha

Yea,giving is important and its supposed to be our normal way of life as christain should,it's good we give to people who are in need because it's a way to also show we love and care for them,we can't say we love without giving,John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.2 Corinthians 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

We are no different than anyone else when we give only to people who can pay us back. We are the most like our generous God when we give to people who coukd never repay the favor. God lets it rain on the Just and the unjust. Love always has action! Compassion and our love for God and appreciation for His Grace in our lives should compell us to give! Even giving to and blessing our enemies. This pleases God! Our lives should be lived in a way of worship, to please Him at all times!
Thank you for this timely message!
