The Set Time

You Will Be Helped

The set time is always characterized by God's help. Help will begin to show up from left, right and center for you. when the time of a man has come God will always position him to be helped even by those that don't like Him.

There is no one that can help but God. He is the source of all help; If He helps a man, no man can stand against such a person and if He does not help a man, no man can help him. Help was mentioned several times in the scripture and on each occasion it was attributed to God.

Psalm 121 vs 1-2 shows God as the source of help for man. Another very good example is the story of King Uzziah in 2 Chronicles 26 vs 7-15.

You Will Be Preserved

When it is time, you will be preserved, no evil is allowed to come near you because your defenses are sure. You will be preserved and fully protected; nothing can cut you short in life. Whatever cannot take your life before then can no longer succeed when your time has come.

David was a man that experienced hardship on his way to fulfilling his destiny but all these challenges were not able to take his life because it was his time. Saul tried all he could to get him but all his attempts failed woefully, he ended up being killed because God preserved David. From Psalm 89 vs 20-24, it said "the son of wickedness shall exact upon him". this does not mean they won't try, but that they would not succeed. God also vowed to beat down his enemies before him as in the case of Saul. You may be wondering how I know that it was David's time, the first two lines said it all, he was found and anointed, which is empowerment and establishment which brought settlement . All these can only happen in the life of a man at the acceptable time or set time.

You will Be For A Covenant Of The People

To be given for a covenant of the people means to become a reference point for generations yet unborn. To be made a testimony and proof of God's faithfullness for establishing his covenant for the world.

David indeed became a reference point and God cut covenant with him and his generations to come, his kingdom was established forever before God. God promised him that he will not lack a man to sit on the throne of Israel forever, it was also likened to the covenant of night and day meaning it was irreversible.

This covenant was not just meant for him alone but includes his childrens children. The previous verses talks bout his generations after him, taking after him and God promising to be a father unto them, and in the event of transgressing His laws, He vowed to punish them like a father.

David no doubt is an example given in a covenant to the people, this was covenant as a matter of fact made Jesus Christ to come from tribe of Judah and to be a descendant of David forever. Jesus Christ was referred to as the Son of David.

In Mark 10 vs 47-48, take note of Verse 48 which says "and Jesus stood till". He stood still because that was his covenant name, it was also written about him that his kingdom will be forever as prophesied by Isaiah.

God properly allowed Jesus Christ to come through the lineage of David to fulfill the prophecy of Isaiah. The coming of the Messiah was done in confirmation of God's covenant of David. Therefore the covenant was not only meant for David and his generations but for the entire world because Jesus came to the world to save the world. It is also important to remember that the covenant was given through David; he was given as a covenant unto the people.
