How Does It Feel to Live with God Daily?

크리스천이라면 누구나 하나님과 동행하는 삶을 꿈꾸고 있습니다.
Every Christian dreams of a life with God.

그래서 어떤 이는 출퇴근 할 때 하나님이 옆에 계신 것처럼, “하나님 이제 가시지요”라면서 진지하게 말한다고 합니다.
I’ve heard some people do say things like, “Ok, God. Let’s go,” in the air, as if God is right next to them, walking and sitting down together over a cup of coffee.

그렇지만 하나님이 자신과 함께 있다고 생각하는 것과, 실제로 하나님과 동행하는 것은 다릅니다.
But believe God is nearby and really living with Him are 2 different things.

솔직히 말해서, 허다한 크리스천들이 성령이 자신 안에 거주하고 있다고 믿고 있지만, 성령이 내주하는 증거나 열매가 있는 이들은 거의 없습니다.
Many Christians think the Holy Spirit dwells within them, but you don’t often see people that show signs of the Spirit.

말하자면 벌거숭이 임금님처럼, 홀랑 벗고 다니면서 훌륭한 옷을 입고 있다고 착각하는 것과 진배없습니다.
They are just like the emperor from “The Emperor’s New Clothes,” thinking he is nicely dressed when he is practically naked.

그러나 이 문제는 생각보다 심각해요. 왜냐하면 예수님은 성령으로 다시 태어난 하나님의 사람이 아니라면 아무도 천국에 들어갈 수 없다고 단호하게 말씀하셨기 때문이죠.
But the actual problem is more serious than that; Jesus strictly said the only people who were reborn with water and the Holy Spirit have the way to Heaven.

그래서 자신이 성령과 동행하고 있다고 생각하는 것과, 실제로 동행하는 삶을 사는 것은 엄연히 다릅니다.
Thinking the Holy Spirit is within you and actually living with the Holy Spirit are different.

만약 성령이 내주하고 있다는 자신의 생각이 착각에 불과하다면 지옥행 급행열차에 있는 셈이니까요.
If you believe in what you don’t have will lead you straight to Hell.

그래서 오늘은 하나님과 동행하는 삶에 대해 찬찬히 살펴보고 싶습니다.
So I would like to look at life with God.

앞서 말했지만 성경 말씀을 자의적으로 해석하여, 1분짜리 영접기도를 마쳤으므로 성령이 자동적으로 자신 안에 거주하고 있다고 여기는 것이 대부분 우리네 교인의 생각입니다.
As I’ve said earlier, many Christians believe the Holy Spirit is with them because they said they accepted Jesus as their savior.

그러나 성령이 누구십니까?
Who is the Holy Spirit?

세상을 지으시고 우주를 운행하시며, 대자연을 다스리시고 인간의 생사화복을 주관하시는 전지전능한 하나님이 아니신가요?
Isn’t he the operator of this world, Lord of all people, God Almighty?

그런 엄청난 위력의 하나님이 자신 안에 있는데도, 자신의 영혼과 삶에 아무런 존재감을 드러내지 않는 게 더 이상하지 않습니까?
Isn’t it weird that God is there with you but nothing really happens?

감기 바이러스가 몸에 들어와도 콧물이 나고 열이 펄펄 오르고 기침이 나는 현상으로, 감기에 걸린 게 확연하게 증상으로 나타나는데 말입니다.
I mean, catching a cold breaks out in fever and runny nose; how come God is not even THAT noticeable?

고단하고 팍팍한 삶과 건조하고 메마른 영혼의 상태는, 대부분의 우리네 교인들에게 성령이 없다는 증거입니다.
That just proves He is not with you; all the misery, emptiness in soul explains everything.

그렇다면 이미 성령이 자신 안에 계신 것을 애써 확신하고, 그분이 자신과 동행하는 것처럼 기괴한(?) 퍼포먼스를 하면서, 그렇게 믿으려고 애쓰며 살아간다면 성령과 동행하는 삶입니까?
So are you really living with the Holy Spirit, if you believe He is and act like He is with you?

적지 않은 크리스천이 이런 방식으로 자신에게 성령이 내주하고 있음을 확인하려고 애쓰고 있습니다.
Many Christians think so.

그러나 성령은 자신에게 계신다는 자기암시와 자기 확신을 반복한다고 계신 것이 아닙니다.
But self-hypnosis won’t make it true.

그렇다면 성령은 사람의 의지와 노력으로 들어오시는 분이라는 말이 될 것입니다.
If it were, that means the Holy Spirit is someone who comes and goes whenever people ask.

이런 현상은 자기 확신이나 자기 최면을, 믿음으로 착각하는 이들에게 발생합니다.
And this happens because people believe in their own persuasion.

성경에 나타난 대로, 전지전능한 하나님의 능력이 자신에게 드러나지 않으면 안 계신 겁니다.
Just like the Bible says, if you don’t see signs of the Spirit, he’s not there with you.

그러므로 인본적인 방법과 인간적인 노력으로 성령이 계신다고 착각하지 마세요.
So don’t believe that you can TRY and have the Holy Spirit stay with you.

성령이 계신 것은 인간적인 애씀과 노력으로 되는 것이 아니라, 하나님의 자녀에게 값없이 주시는 선물입니다.
Being with Holy Spirit is not something you achieve by your endeavor; it is a gift to you from God.

그렇다면 성령이 계신 증거는 무엇입니까?
So what is the proof of the existence of the Holy Spirit?

가장 두드러진 특징이 일상의 삶에서 잔잔한 평안과 기쁨 그리고 자유함이 넘쳐나야 합니다.
The prominent characteristic is peace, joy, and liberty in life.

이는 모두 하나님의 속성이기 때문입니다.
They are all God’s characters.

많은 이들이 기도할 때, 특히 방언기도를 하는 이들이 평안을 경험한다고 자신 안에 성령이 있다고 확신하는 증거를 대고 있습니다.
Many say they feel peaceful when they pray, and believe that is the proof the Holy Spirit is with them.

그러나 기도할 때뿐 아니라 일상의 삶에서 이런 상태가 지속되어야 합니다.
But you should always be in the same, peaceful state, whether you pray or are living your life.

그동안 우리네 교회에서는 찬양집회나 부흥회의 통성기도 때에 감정이 격앙된 상태를 성령이 내주하는 증거로 들고 있지만, 집에 돌아오면 이내 건조하고 냉랭한 마음의 상태로 되돌아갑니다.
Many people experienced excitement and joy during revival meetings but return to the old self upon returning.

그렇다면 성령은 집회장소나 기도할 때만 계시는 분이신가요? 이는 악한 영이 속이거나 개인적인 감정일 뿐입니다.
So then, does Holy Spirit only go for big revival meetings? These feelings may be just personal emotions or feelings demons put inside you to deceive you.

나이트클럽이나 노래방에 가서 노래 부르고 춤을 추면 감정이 격앙되며 기분이 좋지 아니합니까?
I mean, you also can feel excited when you go clubbing or go sing at karaoke, too, right?

두 번째는 전지전능한 성령의 능력이 자신 안에서 드러나야 합니다.
2nd, the almighty Holy Spirit’s power must show in your life.

많은 이들이 자신의 주관적인 감정과 느낌으로 성령이 내주하고 있다고 확신하고 있습니다.
Many believe in the Holy Spirit’s indwelling based on their feelings.

그러나 성령이 누구십니까?
Who is the Holy Spirit?

전지전능한 하나님이시죠.
He is God Almighty.

하나님과 동행하였다고 소개한 성경의 위인들은 죄다 하나님과 친근함을 과시하고 그분의 능력을 삶에서 드러냈습니다.
People who lived with God in the Bible all showed how close they were by showing amazing power of God in their lives.

예수님은 물론 사도들의 사역을 찬찬히 살펴보세요.
Look at how the apostles lived; look at how Jesus lived.

그들은 귀신을 쫓아내고 불구를 일으키며 고질병을 고치면서 복음을 전파하고 초대교회를 세워나갔습니다.
They chased away demons, healed sick people, spread gospel, and founded early churches.

그러나 성령이 내주한다고 믿고 있는 우리네 교인들은 무기력하고 무능하지요.
But people who believe the Holy Spirit’s indwelling are powerless.

성령이 여러분 안에 들어오신 목적이 무엇일까요?
What is the purpose of the Holy Spirit coming into you?

심심해서 여러분과 사귀면서 무료한 시간을 때우려고 들어 오셨겠습니까? 아니죠.
Is he trying to come to you because he is bored? Nope.

그분이 여러분에게 오시려는 목적은 단 하나입니다.
He has 1 reason to come to you.

복음을 전파해서 영혼을 구원하고 하나님의 나라를 확장하기 위해서입니다.
He comes to you to save your souls and expand God’s kingdom.

그러므로 여러분 안에 성령이 거주하고 계시다면 놀라운 영적 능력으로, 귀신을 쫓아내고 고질병을 치유하며 영혼을 구원하고 하나님의 나라를 확장하고 있어야 합니다.
If the Holy Spirit lives within you, you should be working for God, healing people and casting demons out via power of the Holy Spirit.

그런 삶을 살고 있지 않다면 당신 안에 아무도 없는 게 분명합니다.
If you don’t live like that, the Holy Spirit isn’t with you.

우리네 교회 주변에 적지 않은 은사주의자들이 여러 신기한 현상과 능력을 보여주면서 성령의 증거임을 제시합니다.
Many claim to be with God, showing their spiritual power as proof of the Spirit’s presence.

그러나 그들은 사람들을 놀라게 하면서 헌금을 거두어들일 뿐, 영혼을 구원하거나 제자를 양육하면서 하나님의 나라를 확장하지 않습니다.
But most of them collect money off of their power; they don’t try to expand God’s kingdom or rescue poor, unfortunate souls.

이는 성령을 가장한 악한 영의 속임일 뿐이예요.
They are part of ruse demons use, pretending to be Holy Spirit.

세 번째는 변화입니다. 성령이 들어오시면 사람을 거룩하게 변화시키고, 가정을 화목하게 변화시키고, 교회를 새롭게 변화시킵니다.
The 3rd is the change. When Holy Spirit comes, the person is changed, along with family and church.

그러나 오랜 신앙의 연륜과 드높은 교회직분을 자랑하는 이들도 변화 없는 삶을 반복하고 있습니다.
But many stay the same, despite all the work they’ve put into church and their lives.

성령의 9가지 열매가 대부분 거룩한 성품을 말하고 있으며, 하나님은 성경 곳곳에서 ‘내가 거룩하니 너희도 거룩하라’고 명령하고 계십니다.
9 fruits of the Spirit all talk of holy character; and God commands us to be holy throughout the Bible.

그러나 부족한 성품에서 거룩한 성품으로 변화하지 못하고, 돈과 쾌락을 쫓는 세속적인 인생관에서 하나님께 인생을 바치는 인생관으로 변화하지 않는다면 성령이 계시지 않는다는 증거일 뿐입니다.
But if you don’t change and are still chasing the rainbow of the world, that means Holy Spirit is not with you.

그렇다면 어떻게 성령과 동행하는 삶을 살 겁니까?
So how do you live with the Holy Spirit?

가장 중요한 것은, 하나님을 찾고 부르는 기도의 습관을 들이는 겁니다.
The most important thing is to learn to continually pray and seek God.

날마다 쉬지 않고 기도하는 것은 당신의 백성에게 바라시는 하나님의 지상명령이죠.
Praying non-stop is God’s will for us on earth.

그러므로 쉼 없이 하나님을 찾고 그분의 이름을 구하는 기도의 습관이 없다면 하나님과 동행하는 삶은 꿈도 꾸지 마시기 바랍니다.
So please do not even dream about living with God if you don’t seek Him at all times.

적지 않은 크리스천들이 그동안 교회에 다니면서, 간절한 기도 끝에 성령의 임재를 경험하였지만 이를 지속하지 못하였습니다.
Many Christians received the Holy Spirit after their desperate prayers; unfortunately, their prayer didn’t continue for long.

그 이유는 쉬지 않고 하나님을 부르는 기도의 습관을 들이지 못했기 때문입니다.
That is because they don’t continually call God.

자신의 노력이 없이 선물로 주어지는 성령의 임재는, 이를 유지할 기도의 습관이 없는 이들에게는 허니문기간에 불과할 뿐이예요.
Holy Spirit’s presence is a gift; if you don’t pray continually, you won’t have the power to have him stay.

머지않아 성령이 떠나시지만 선물로 주셨기에 스스로 찾을 능력이 없습니다.
Holy Spirit will leave soon; and because he came as a gift, you don’t have the ability to find him.

저희 영성학교에서 성령이 내주하는 훈련을 하는 이유이지요.
That is why CSA require people to train to continually pray to God.

그 다음에는 쉽게 찾아오시는 법이 없으시기 때문입니다.
He won’t come as easily once you let him go.

혹독하게 하나님을 부르고 끈기 있게 성령의 내주를 간구하는 이들에게 찾아오십니다.
He only comes to people who tenaciously seek him.

그러나 더 중요한 것은 성령이 오시는 게 아니라, 떠나시지 않도록 쉬지 않고 하나님을 부르는 기도의 습관을 들이는 겁니다.
It’s more important to have the Holy Spirit stay with you via your prayer than inviting him to come.

그게 없다면 성령이 오셨다 하더라도 허망한 일일 뿐입니다.
If you don’t have the power of prayer, the Holy Spirit’s visit doesn’t mean a thing.

또한, 하나님의 뜻 안에서 살려고 애써야합니다.
Also, you must try hard to live according to God’s will.

매일 기도의 삶속에서 그 분의 뜻을 알아가고, 진리가운데로 가게 되면 자연적으로 동행하게 됩니다.
You will live with Him only if you pray every moment of your life to realize what God has planned for you.

간절한 기도 끝에 성령이 내주하시면, 성경에 기록된 하나님의 뜻을 깨닫게 하시고 그 뜻대로 살 수 있는 능력을 주십니다.
When Holy Spirit comes, after all your prayers are heard, he will give you power to understand God and live accordingly.

그리고 죄를 미워하고 죄와 피터지게 싸우며, 죄를 부추기는 악한 영의 계략을 파쇄 하는 영적 능력을 보유하게 됩니다.
And you’ll be able to despise and fight against demons that deceive you.

그리고 교회에서의 형식적인 예배의식이나 교회봉사 등이 아니라, 일상의 삶에서 살아있는 제물이 되어 하나님이 기쁘시게 하는 삶을 살려고 애쓰게 되지요.
Then you’ll work hard to live a life God rejoices, not what pastors are pleased to see.

이런 삶이 비로소 진리 가운데로 걸어가는 삶입니다.
That is how you walk toward the truth.

그러나 우리는 부족하고 연약하기에 날마다 넘어지고 쓰러질 수밖에 없어요.
But we are weak; we will stumble and fall.

성령이 들어오셔서, 우리가 진리 안에서 살아갈 힘과 능력을 주셔야 가능합니다.
Holy Spirit must come to us and give us power to fight.

그러나 이러한 삶은 자동적으로 누리게 되는 것이 아니라, 자신이 하나님의 뜻을 분별하고 그 뜻 안에서 살려고 애쓰고 노력해야 한다는 겁니다.
These things don’t come for free; we must do our best to know God’s will and live accordingly.

많은 크리스천들이 성령이 내주하는 삶을 살지 않으면서 성령이 계시다고 착각하고 있습니다.
Many people think the Holy Spirit is with them although that isn’t true.

이들은 죄다 지옥의 불길로 던져지게 될 겁니다.
They’ll all be thrown into fires of Hell.

피조물로서 창조주인 하나님의 명령을 무시한 교만과 어리석음의 대가를 치르는 겁니다.
They will pay for their disobedience and ignorance.

성경의 위인들은 죄다 성령과 동행하는 삶을 살다가 천국에 들어갔지만, 이 시대의 교인들은 세속적이거나 종교적인 모습으로 형식적인 예배의식과 관행적인 희생행위를 반복하다가 심판에 앞에 서게 될 겁니다.
The people of faith in the Bible all went up to Heaven, but many Christians today will live religious lives and stand in front of the Judge when the time comes.

성령과 동행하는 조건은 딱 두 가지예요.
There are 2 requirements to live with the Holy Spirit.

쉬지 않는 기도의 습관을 들이는 것과, 매일 기도의 삶속에서 하나님의 뜻을 깨닫고 진리의 길을 가는 겁니다.
Pray continually.
Realize what God has planned for you and follow.

그러면 누구나 자연스럽게 성령과 동행하는 삶을 살게 되죠.
Then anyone can live a life with God, no matter who they are.

그러나 수많은 사람들은 탐욕과 방탕을 추구하는 세상살이에 빠져서 성령과 동행하는 삶에 관심이 없거나, 자의적이고 비성경적인 방법으로 성령과 동행하려고 노력하면서 착각에 빠져 살아가고 있습니다.
But many are blinded by greed and pleasure. They take no interest; or or they interpret God’s will on their own and go the wrong way.

이들은 고단하고 팍팍한 삶을 살다가 머지않아 지옥의 불길에 던져질 겁니다.
They will live miserably and thrown into Hell.

여러분은 어디에 속한 사람입니까?
Where do you belong?

쉬지 않는 기도로서 성령과 깊고 친밀한 영적 습관을 들이고, 날마다 하나님의 뜻대로 살려고 애쓰고 있는지 자신을 찬찬히 살펴보기 바랍니다.
I hope you pause for a moment and assess yourself, to see if you’re going the right direction.
