Lessons from Matthew 1 and 2

Matthew 1;

  1. every man has a root where he can be traced from and the end point is God. Every root must have a supply. The kind or richness of supply it receives would depend on where it is rooted into. The question would be where are we rooted into? Col 2:7" rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving".Ephe3:17 "so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love". Whether the root would wither away or not is dependent on the kind of supply. Not every source can sustain life. We can only get sustained in Christ.
    If we critically observe the grasses, we would discover that some are green, some yellow (gradually dying away . Even those that are green, some seems to be fresher than others ;this tells of the place of depthedness to our source (supply).
    The good news is that even those grasses that seems to wither away, when exposed to a rich supply or source, they regenerate again. God through Holy Spirit by Jesus Christ regenerates us when we connect back to the right source (God) after falling away. HE didn't just regenerates us but also sustains us. 1. Our judgements are products of our personality and our personality should be that of Christ because there is no personality that is better than that of Christ . Mt 1:19 " then Joseph her husband, being a just man and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put away privately.
  2. Joseph didn't make mistakes because he always hears from God. One of the worst thing that can happen to a man, is working without God directives. It can likened to walking in a dark tunnel without light.

Matthew 2;
Every man has a star and every star comes with an assignment. Only stars that are seen can be located. The star may be up there but if it lost its ability to glow light, it would equally well not be seen or notice. It may glow light, but if it's hidden under confinement it would still not be seen. Scriptures ask this question 'do men light a candle and place it under a bushel? Definitely its light won't be notice. The wise men first saw HIS star from the East before they could follow it to get to HIS location. Christ is the source of our light, John 1:4" in HIM was life and the life was the light of men ". When we loss Christ either by consciously dwelling in sin, we loss the light.
The devil sees a shining star as a threat to him and would go any length to fight it; Mt 2:3-4,“when Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled and all Jerusalem with him,and when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.
The devil is more interested in the assignment of the star than the star itself. 1Cor 2:8"Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
In the kingdom, hearing from God is one thing and obeying HIS voice is another thing. Both are equally important. It's only fruitful when we hear and obey without modifying it. "And when he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night and departed to Egypt-Mt2:14.
That was obedience to God's instruction that prevented the death of the young child.
In all, we should know that there's nothing we are passing through that God isn't aware of.
When we're passing through the fire, HE is there with us, when we pass through the waters, HE also there for us, Isa43:2.One with God is a majority. If God be us who then can be against usRm8:31. Nay in all these things we are more than conquerors through HIM that loves us.
