Do not underestimate the power of preaching to your soul. King David did. The problem of some preachers is they can always get a message for their parishioners but seldom preach to themselves.
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrew 4:13 (NIV)
If the Word you preach cannot affect your life like the double edged Sword, check it up and try again.
