Greetings friends of Steemchurch, this time I present the chapter 5 of Mark, which tells the story of the possessed Gadarene and specifically understand the verse 36

Mark 5:36
The Word (HispanoAmericana)

  1. They came to the other side of the lake, to the region of Gerasa.

  2. As soon as Jesus got out of the boat, a man possessed by an impure spirit came out to meet him from the cemetery.

  3. This man lived in the cemetery and nobody had been able to hold him even with chains.

  4. Many times he had been chained and fastened with shackles, but he had always broken them and nobody could control him.

  5. Day and night he walked among the tombs and the mountains, shouting and beating himself with stones.

  6. When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and went to kneel at his feet,

  7. shouting with all his strength: - Leave me alone, Jesus, Son of the Most High God! For God's sake, do not torment me!

  8. And Jesus had told the impure spirit to come out of that man.

  9. Jesus asked him: - What is your name? He replied: - My name is "Legion", because we are many.

  10. And he insistently begged Jesus not to throw them out of that region.

  11. At the foot of the mountain I was grazing a large herd of pigs,

  12. And the spirits prayed to Jesus: - Send us to the pigs to enter them.

  13. Jesus allowed it, and the unclean spirits came out of the man and entered the pigs. Instantly, the herd went down the slope to the lake, where the pigs, which numbered about two thousand, drowned.

  14. The swineherds ran away and told it in the town and in the fields, so that people went there to see what happened.

  15. When the people came to where Jesus was, he saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, and who was now sitting, clothed and in his right mind. And everyone was filled with fear.

  16. The witnesses of the event told the others what had happened with the possessed and with the pigs,

  17. Therefore, all began to beg Jesus to leave his district.

  18. Then Jesus got into the boat. The man who had been demon-possessed begged him to let him accompany him.

  19. But Jesus did not allow it, but said to him: - Go to your house, to yours, and tell them everything that the Lord has done for you and how he has had compassion on you.

  20. The man left and began to proclaim for the people of the Decapolis region what Jesus had done with him; and everyone was amazed.

  21. When Jesus returned to the other shore, many people gathered around him by the lake.

  22. And there came one of the leaders of the synagogue, called Jairus, who, seeing Jesus, fell down at his feet,

  23. Begging insistently: - My daughter is dying; but if you come and put your hands on it, it will be saved and live.

  24. Jesus went with him. There was also a great crowd, following Jesus and almost crushing him.

  25. Among the people was a woman who had been bleeding for twelve years.

  26. He had suffered much at the hands of many doctors and had spent all his fortune on them, without getting anything, but going from bad to worse.

  27. That woman had heard about Jesus and, confused among the people, came to him and from behind he touched her cloak,

  28. Telling herself: "Only when I touch her mantle, will I be healed."

  29. And, indeed, the cause of her hemorrhages immediately disappeared and she felt that she had been cured of her illness.

  30. Jesus immediately realized that a healing power had come from him; He turned, then, to the people and asked: - Who has touched my cloak?

  31. His disciples said to him: - You see that people almost overwhelm you everywhere and still ask who has touched you?

  32. But he kept looking around to find out who had done it.

  33. The woman, then, trembling with fear because she knew what had happened to her, went to kneel at the feet of Jesus and told her the whole truth.

  34. Jesus said to her: - Daughter, your faith has saved you. Go in peace, free of your illness.

  35. Jesus was still speaking, when some of the house of the synagogue leader came to tell him: - Your daughter is dead. Do not bother the Master anymore.

  36. But Jesus, ignoring those words, said to the leader of the synagogue: - Do not be afraid. Just have faith!

  37. And without allowing anyone to accompany him, except Peter, James and his brother John,

  38. He went to the house of the synagogue chief. When he arrived, he saw the commotion and the people who were crying with much screaming.

  39. He entered and said to them: - What are these commotion and these cries coming from? The girl is not dead; she is asleep.

  40. But they made fun of him. Jesus drove everyone out of there and, making himself go with only the parents of the girl and those who had gone with him, he entered where the girl was.

  41. He took her hand and said: - Talitha, qum, which means: "Girl, I'm addressing you: get up."

  42. The girl, who was twelve years old, got up immediately and started walking. And the people were stunned.

  43. Jesus sternly ordered that they not let anyone know this, and ordered the girl to be fed.

REFLECTION

This story of Mark 5, refers that people should have more faith in God and in herself, instead of fear invading her mind and feeling.

It is inevitable to feel fear when emotionally affects our condition, when we have sick family members, when there are serious problems or when there are inconveniences of work, it is natural for people to feel fear when they face delicate situations, however, it is also true that we go to God so that all those situations are solved.

This post is ideal because it makes us understand that we must have faith despite the circumstances, that we should not be afraid and believe that everything is possible if the faith is true. Jesus, son of God, demonstrated at that moment to Jairo (Head of the synagogue), that he believed in him and had a lot of faith that his daughter was alive, and that is exactly what Jairo did, to leave fear and increase his faith , resulting the girl alive.

God is love, he is powerful, a supreme being that helps us to trust as long as the man keeps his faith in believing, he teaches us that we should have more faith and be less afraid of what might happen.
