STEEMCHURCH: SEVEN FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES FOR SPIRITUAL GROWTH
Warm greetings Fellow Steemchurch and sc-n Pariosners.
To grow Spiritually, there are seven steps you must take. I'd you do not take these steps, whatever else you do, you would not experience spiritual development.
These steps ate elementary.
I call them the seven fundamental principles for spiritual growth.
Step One:Learn To Forget
Step one in spiritual development is to learn to forget the past
PHILIPPIANS 3:13-14
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, FORGETTING THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE BEHIND, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
To grow Spiritually, you must do things Paul suggests in these verses.
Notice Paul doesn't believe He has "arrived" yet.
He says he is still pressing toward the mark.
The person who thinks he has arrived and knows it all will never grow Spiritually.
Nobody knows it all!.
Actually, the more you grow in the Lord and learn about Him, the more you resize how little you know.
It is only a spiritually immature person that thinks he/she knows all.
Before you can press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus, you must take the first step ofSpiritual development by"...forgetting those things we are behind"(Phil. 3:13).
Forget even the blessings of GOD that are behind, because if you live on last blessings, you are living on sale manna.
If you are satisfied with what happened in the past, you are not reaching toward the future blessings God has in store for you.
Let us never come to the place where we say, "I am satisfied with my knowledge of God".
Thank God for His Blessings and for the spiritual experiences we have had in the past.
But, let us only be satisfied with the dissatisfaction that has to be satisfied again and again.
Otherwise, we will stop growing spiritually.
There is another side of learning to forget that us important: ****You must learn to forget your past mistakes, failures and sins.***
As long as Satan can keep those past failures before you,he holds you in a position where you will not develop Spiritually and your prayers and faith will not work.
All of us have failed in the past. We're not proud of it. We're not advertising it.
But, we are not to sit and brood over them.
We are also to forget our past sins.
ISAIAH 43:25
25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out the transgressions for mine own sake, and WILL NOT REMEMBER THY SINS.
HEBREWS 8:12 Says
***For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and THEIR INIQUITIES WILL I REMEMBER NO MORE.
The Word of God is the cure for sin-consciousness.
HALLELUJAH, He has forgotten the past sins!.
No wonder the Bible says,
Let us come boldly unto the thrown of Grace, that we may obtain Mercy, and find Grace to go on time of need.

The word of God says: if any man be in Christ he is a new creation and old things have past. God does not even consider our past before saving us and so we should forget the past. Our past is an enemy that always hinder us from growing spiritually and like Apostle said that he looks forward to what is ahead of him, that should be our attitude. Great message, thank you.

Of course just like our physical bodies, our spirits need food and exercise to grow bigger and stronger.
We have to make conscious efforts to work on our spirits and keep growing.

You are right my dear.....we should forget what lie behind and press forward towards the prize.
Those things that weigh us down from getting the prize.....like past sins/mistakes.....while think and dwell in it while the bible says.....when one is in christ his a new creature old things has passed away all things are now new. ....don't mind the accuser of brethen.. Rebuke him when he brings the pictures of your past lives....

thanks @sc-n for the beautiful message truthfully if you want to base on the past to build the future then your going to give up on your dreams the past never determines who you are . The bible clears says forget the past because he is going to do some new that is awesome
