To worship God in spirit and in truth
Every Christian should be a worshiper. Adoration is not the prerogative of a certain class of people who may be called adoration professionals; Or should we only worship when the worship group sings beautiful songs?
The Lord Jesus did not say: to worship the Father in spirit or in truth but in spirit and in truth. We can worship in spirit but not be in truth, that is to say: we follow a certain religious practice, sing beautiful canticles where we feel the spirit and we say: "Ah! We felt good, there was the spirit of God! ": To live a certain piety but which can be completely false. It is not by singing spiritual songs that God will be satisfied because God looks to the heart.
What it means "in spirit and in truth"
"In spirit and in truth" means that our life must be in accordance with what we proclaim of God and live according to what He asks of us. He is holy, and he wants us to be holy too. We can not claim to worship God in spirit while the reality of our inner life is full of lies, greed, covetousness, slander, pride, impurity, hypocrisy and jealousy.
