Reminder On How To Live A Holy Life And Be Like Jesus

Many of us want to live a holy life and be like Jesus, you should not be surprised if I tell we all love to see things change like a wardrobe being changed and replaced with new ones, a soil nutrients on our farmland being replenished, a repentant of a drug addict, even in movies, we love to see the bad team win later, a neglected boy become a prince, a poor boy become a rich man and so on, we are all very inspired by anything transformation.
If I should ask many of us that how long does it take to start living a holy life and live a life just like Jesus who is sinless and pure, I know many of us will say it takes just a moment to decide that and start a life of that in which we letgo of sin, stand before God without blemish and defects.
In the Bible all these are referred to as justification, Yes it is miraculous and a big time once occurrence which lead to sanctification, it is very easy to because within you, you can just decide "I want to live my life the way Jesus lived his own" but this a second decision take renewal of one's mind, when you decide to be like Jesus, there are some remainder that can help you perfect your decision.

Reminder Towards this perfection include:

1.Work towards progress not perfection

Yes you have decided but trust me if I say you are not there yet, the truth is we all love things being perfect ones we go into them,that is why we are always dissapointed when they are not and tempted to quit, many times we make a promise using the phrase "never again" just like never again will I commit adultery, never again will I smoke or do drugs and so on but when your body system can't take it and you see reasons why you should go back to your old ways after vowing to leave them, you go again, to be like Jesus and live a holy life takes time especially for those that have gone far astray so it takes progress before perfection because perfection is a work in progress.

2.Put your mind in the future and not the past

Like Paul writes in Philipian 3 One thing I do : forgetting what is behind and straining towards what is ahead.

To be like Jesus you need to leave the past to past and focus on the future, if there is any unseen chain trying to hold you back to your past as you try moving forward, probably you are remembering lost someone dare to you, a failed relationship or marriage and so on, the great news is that, the chain has been broken already the very moment you say Yes to Jesus, he paid the price alrdadyby dying on the cross, all our bad past and sin are washed away, this is why you dont need to keep paying for your past, why not look straight at that future now.

3.Think application not information

Christian always believe they are growing by knowing more about the Bible, yes biblical knowledge cannot be over looked, it is very germane only if it is applied.

James 1:22 says "Do not just listen to the word and then deceive yourself, Do what it says.

The true Christian aren't those who know the biblical and theological answer but those that arrange their lives around God's word with a humble heart.

4.Trust God's power than willpower
Believing and relying on your willpower only will not lead to a change that you want, it's only God's power that transforms us, we don't make ourselves holy , according to the Bible, we are made holy by him [God].

The Bible says in Ephesians 1: God's power is great to help those that believe in him, that same power that raised Christ from dead.

True transformation means partnering with God by being made new in the altitude of our mind.
I know we are not fully who God made us or where he want us to be yet but he will get us there somday, just keep believing......
