Christian prepared for battle

Cover yourself with all the armor of God, so that you can stand firm against the cunning traps of the devil. (Ephesians 6:11)

How should the Christian prepare for a spiritual struggle? Simple, if you put on the armor of God. But how do I know I'm in that armor? And if we can not see the enemy, how can we attack the enemy?

The armor of God is given to the church, Paul speaks in the plural (Eph 6:10), so we need to be united to maintain that armor. Because the pieces of the armor are according to our behavior, that is, the way of behaving that is only seen in a true converted Christian.

And that involves the church, Christian behavior is put into practice when it relates to other Christians. I mean, the church! For example; How will he be girded with the truth (Ephesians 6:14), without belonging to the Lord's church?

Because the truth is Christ (Jn 14: 6), and the church is his body. (1 Cor 12:27) In other words, if he covers himself with the armor of God, he is clothed with Christ, with the character of Christ, who is seen in the church, because we learn to serve the Lord, one with another, that is, to make disciples. (2Tm 2: 2)

If we were in a climate of war, and you would like to be prepared to fight for your country, I would have to enter its army. That's obvious! In the same way, the Christian who wants to prepare himself for the spiritual battle needs to enter the army of the living God!

Unlike many other battles, the armor of God, values ​​defense. Well, only one piece is attack. Everything else is for our defense. Paul does not say: Take all the armor of God to attack the enemy. But he says: "so you can be firm." (Eph 6:11)

Did you notice Pablo's words, talking about defense? In verse 11 he says that the armor is to "stand firm." In verse 13 he repeats saying, that the armor is to "resist on the bad day." And, in verse 14, he repeats saying "be firm."

And the shield and helmet are for defense; In short, the Christian clad in the armor of God is very strong, but not to attack, but to resist! Therefore, the Christian is the one who resists, when everyone gives up, remains standing, when all fall, and when everyone gets confused, the Christian remains unbreakable.

The resistance we have comes from the Lord, he is our rock, our refuge! That is why the psalmist compares us to Mount Zion, unbreakable. And so, when facing the enemy, James says: RESISTI the devil, and he will flee. (Tg 4: 7)

No matter what we are going to go through, having the armor of God, let's resist, let's stay; after passing the strong wind knocking down everything; Everyone see that we are still standing!

Thus the Christian prepares for battle, he signs himself in Christ, the rock, and remains unwavering.
