The old man is our greatest enemy, an enemy of God, it hates holiness, an enemy of heaven, the Oldman is the satanic friend hibernating in our lives.

As soon as man fell in the garden of Eden and lost all the beautiful things that God planned for him, the state of all heart of man has been referred to in the scriptures as the old man.

The old man is a terrible entity. It is the carnal nature that lives inside of us. It is the remains of sin, which has vowed not to leave us alone. It can also be referred to as in bred sin.

As long as we continue to allow the old man to have his way in our life, our spiritual eyes can never see anything. This would be so simply because it is impossible to be in this world and be allowed to spy what is going on in the spiritual world.

The old man makes us as a person who cannot rise to the level of sonship. Wherever the old man is thriving, the spirit of God will only be an observer. Many of us have been crying to God saying;

“O God, use me. I want to hear your voice and see heavenly vision”

But we cannot receive the answer to our requests. Until we deal with the old man, God can never give us visions. God is telling us now, as long as we remain close to the old man, we cannot see the glory of God.

A VISION AGAINST THE OLD MAN

“Romans 6:6-7 King James Version (KJV)
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.”

This is a vision from one of the most respected pentecostal fathers in Nigeria. He prayed fervently one day saying:

“O Lord, there are many babies in this church. What shall we do? O Lord, intervene. Make them to grow. Give them power. Let them receive knowledge.”

The man of God was burdened that he cried unto God for seven days and seven nights. At the end of the programme, God gave him a revelation. He saw a caterer who had a lot of palatable dishes to give out. The food had a good aroma and was steaming hot. On the other side, he saw a long queue of his own church members, waiting to be served. Each of them was carrying his plate. He noticed something unusual. The caterer was weeping bitterly. Those who were in the queue waiting for the food were also weeping. Some of them were wiling saying,

“Please give us food. We are very hungry.”

The caterer was also crying saying,

“I am ready to give you food, but your plates are dirty, and contaminated. If you check your plates carefully, you will discover that there are faeces on it”

And the vision cleared away and this man of God realised his congregation were wallowing with the old man.

According to this vision, this is exactly what is wrong with many of us today. We are crying for power but we are not ready to keep our vessel clean. The ways for God are very simple. Whenever we meet the conditions, He gives us what we desire. The bible makes it very clear. It says,

“The Lord does nothing without revealing it to His servants, the prophet.”

How does the old man manifest itself; through anger, pride, evil foundation, through evil covenant.

Beloved a lot of things are happening in this world. The prayers at the end of this post will help us dislodge the old man, as we pray them may God bless us in Jesus name.

1. Holy Ghost fire, purge me of the carnal habits in my life in the name of Jesus.

2. Old man hear the word of the Lord, be destroyed in the name of Jesus.

3. I decree that now I am a new creature in Christ Jesus, Amen.
