Steemchurch / What to do with those who govern our nations?

in #steemchurch6 years ago
Greetings friends of Steemit and brothers and sisters in the faith of Steemchurch. Today I will talk about a controversial topic.

In Venezuela a government system has been established that does not please the majority of Venezuelans, subjecting the citizens of this nation to make large queues to acquire food with "price controlled by the state" without mentioning the shortage of them, shortage of medicines, malfunctioning of institutions, corruption, insecurity, deterioration of basic services, electricity, drinking water among others. And a galloping inflation that pulverizes the salary of the working and working class that is calculated in the best of the cases that would close in a 1,000,000%, as @sniffnscurry reviewed in its

Publication.

After exposing this superficially to the readers who do not reside or live in Venezuelan lands, I want to share with you what God expects us to do against those who govern us.

Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, 14 or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right. 15 For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people. 16 Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves 1 Peter 2

In a sense, as Christians we are foreigners. Our true home is not in this world. We are temporary residents in foreign land. That's why we should not be surprised if the unbelievers talk about us as if we were strangers. The truth is that our citizenship is in heaven; but we must not forget that we are also citizens of the earth until the moment when the Lord transforms us.

The words of Jesus in the gospel according to Luke 20:25 "are sufficient proof that the new testament does not teach any kind of anarchy or rebellion. Heavenly privileges and the hope of Christians must serve to make them exemplary citizens. God is pleased that we submit to the agents of human government, no matter what kind this is. The reason for this is that human authorities by God have been established.

So, under normal conditions the Christian's duty is to be submissive. This does not mean that we subject ourselves to the degree of denying the Lord. Pedro and Juan assumed this position when confronted by the leaders of the Jews.

Protests and rebellion can not silence the ignorant words of the foolish. God wants his children to always do the right thing, no matter how the wicked treat them. One of the reasons why Christians should abstain from the fleshly desires that battle against the soul is that from there arise the works of the flesh: hatred, jealousy, anger, strife and heresies. The carnal nature rises against human authority and also against divine authority.

Christian submission is for the sake of the Lord. The truths of Christian liberty consist in obedience to the laws of God and the practice of what pleases Him.

Politics and the weather may be the most popular topics for discussion. However, these discussions are often loaded with complaints and criticism.

Maybe we can not do anything for the weather, but for politics. Above all we can pray. The duty of each believer is to pray regularly for local, state and national leaders. Sometimes we forget that they are human and are in danger of making mistakes and failing. Prayer can make a great impact on our leaders to make the best decisions.

Our hope is centered in the eternal God, the hope that he is the one who sets and removes kings.

Thank you for appreciating this publication.

We must pray for them, first, because God can save them and bring them to the knowledge of the truth, and second, because God uses the rulers to fulfill their purposes whether they believe in him or not. When God wanted to punish his rebellious people, Israel, he converted the haughty king of Assyria into the rod of his wrath (Isaiah 10: 5) and incited him to attack Israel. Once Nebuchadnezzar, the great king of Babylon, said to himself:
Is not this the great Babylon that I have built as a royal residence with the strength of my power and for the glory of my majesty? (Daniel 4:30, NLT)
And God took away his reason and made him eat grass like an ox until he learned this lesson (Daniel 4:34, 35).

We must remember that there is the perfect will of God and the permissive will of God to fulfill a task or teach something, we must pray that in our nation he will fulfill his perfect and agreeable will and place the rulers in his hands.

We also need to pray for our leaders, when you pray for them, God helps them which inevitably benefits them and you!
