Seek Peace And Pursue It
"Flee from the youthful passions and seek ... peace with those who
They call on the Lord with a pure heart. "2 Timothy 2:22
We live in a society where peace is talked about and little is sought; even calls are made for peace in the world, but this desired port is not reached because in the heart of man reigns the ego that leads to pride and disinterest in the good of others. Conclude peace is not the same as having it; but who really has it in the heart will proclaim it, but even more will show it with a meek and understanding life.
The word peace is a term that implies an idea of fulfillment, satisfaction, rest and tranquility. Who would not want peace within himself, around him and in the whole world?
1. The source of peace
Today we talk a lot about peace, flags fly in homes, squares, schools, nations; even peace has always been, is and will continue to be, of world discussion. They unite to reach a peace agreement, try in a thousand ways to bring back the balance on earth: I "praiseworthy human efforts, but these are useless, because the source is Christ Jesus TRUE PEACE the Lord.
Peace, not human, rational strategies will bring peace in our homes, in the life of man, but the peace acquired by Jesus Christ, the Lord who will bring peace in the heart of man.
2. The Lord offers you Peace ... John 14:27 «I give you my peace».
Observe how Jesus speaks here of a peace that no one knows and that is an integral part of Himself, but that He wants to give to the whole world.
As the discourse on peace continues, Jesus highlights a series of negative aspects related to the peace of the world and all that it offers the man who opens the door to true peace.

- The believer enjoys peace in Christ (Psalm 119: 165)
- The peace of Christ is a source of blessing (Psalm 29:11)
The world offers you pleasures, it offers you peace; the jargon used among teenagers is this "test and you will feel better"; the world deceives you, Jesus LOVES YOU; the world tries to drag you to the throat of perdition, Jesus wants to get you out by offering you a lasting peace.
I want to remind you of the importance of being led by the Lord to be guided in the way of peace; let the Word of the Gospel find space these days in your heart deranged, saddened by sin and afflicted by hardship, to bring peace.
3. The expression of peace
Because the apostle Paul encourages Timothy to seek peace, if not to be a bearer of peace and not only to benefit from it for his personal life. The Exsorta: "But it escapes youthful appetites and passions". This is also an important aspect of the Christian experience.
If you have peace in your heart, inevitably when you find yourself in front of your "enemy" you will manifest the fruit of the Holy Spirit that will lodge in your heart; You will be ready for forgiveness to live in peace because you have been forgiven by God and enjoy peace with Him.
Peace, the spiritual one that is through the Atonement of Christ accompanies:
a) Faith (Romans 15:13)
b) Justice (Isaiah 32:17)
c) The knowledge of God (Job 32:17)
d) Love for the law of God (Psalm 119: 165)
I would like to conclude with a strong but incisive expression. Jesus, speaking to his interlocutors, says: The good man with the good treasure of his heart brings out the good; and the evil man brings evil out of the evil treasure; because of the abundance of the heart, his mouth speaks Luke 6:45.
