Hello SteemChurch family, according to the call made by our beloved Apostol @darlenys01 today I will be sharing with you about the Beatitude corresponding to day 1 "The Poor Of Spirit" in Matthew 5: 3. This teaching shows us the character of the Christian. How we should be if we really want to serve and follow the Lord.

These teachings are for the disciples of Jesus, all those who really follow him. It is not limited to 12, to the people who were present there, it is for everyone. The beatitudes are for us, not just one or the other. One that we identify more or less. All of them apply to each one of us. Another thing is that none of these characteristics presented is natural to man. Nobody gets to acquire them by himself except for God.

First we have verse 3 that tells us that Blessed, happy or fortunate are the poor in spirit.

In our society, people are known for what they are, for what they have and for what they can do. When we refer to someone as poor in spirit, surely we are not saying something good about this person, but as someone who has no character, who has nothing to call us attention. We want everyone to be rich in spirit or spiritually elevated or enlightened people. For this we seek to be good, do good, help others, do some volunteer work, make donations, etc.

We want to be admired by others. And I say that this characteristic that Jesus says about humility of spirit is compared to being like a beggar. This has nothing to do with being materially poor or not. But about the vision we have of ourselves.

Normally, we overestimate who we are. For others we are super rigid but with us we are always more tolerant. Both we are not humble, that is just someone who places us below who claims our right.

It's just someone talking to us that we are not anyone who will do everything to show who we are. Who never heard that question: "Who are you to do this or that?" Another thing is the competition that exists in regard to having. Always wanting to show that we have more than others looking to show this more and more. And also when it comes to power. There, yes. When we find ourselves in a situation where we are helpless, we are devastated.

Jesus says that Fortunate, Rich, Happy are the poor, humble in spirit.

What does this mean?

A beggar is someone who is dependent. He needs the help of others to survive. He is no one before society, he can not offer anything. Actually people when they pass near him sees the face because it is bad to know that he is there, it is not good to see him.
The beggar has nothing, at most his body clothes and some cloth to cover himself. It has nothing of value with you. And he can not do anything. He has no power Many times nor about themselves they give themselves to vices to try to support the reality that he is nobody, he can not do anything and he has nothing.

That would be the humble spirit that Jesus says. The humble of spirit is one who recognizes that NOTHING HAS, NOTHING CAN. When you meet the Lord, you are aware of your spiritual state.

However, people have to do something good to try to justify who they are. In all ways be in control of the situation and conquer their salvation or just to have a feeling of altruism. All this trying to be spiritually elevated people or aiming to be good with themselves. But Jesus is breaking all this saying that we need to recognize that we can not do anything.

Given this, I remember the people who had some encounter with God in the Bible. For example Moses. Moses was raised as the son of Pharaoh's daughter at the time that Egypt was the world's greatest power. He was well educated and knew how to fight too. Being a Hebrew, at 40 years old with all his vigor, he tried to free his people from the slavery of Egypt. It did not work And he stayed for 40 years in the desert learning to be humble in spirit and then deal with God face to face. When God called him to liberate the people, Moses says that he can not, is not anyone, so that God would send another. In this contact with God, Moses recognizes who he is. There, then, I was acquiring the character that God desires for us.

When Daniel found God, he fell to the ground without any strength. Paul called himself the greatest of all sinners. Gideon said he could not, that he was the smallest of all. Juan fell to the ground as dead. In the first 5 chapters of the book of Isaiah, we see the prophet saying to the idolaters, drunkards, etc. When he sees the Lord on the high and sublime throne he cries out: Woe is me! And many still insist on saying that they are in the throne room, or that they saw the Lord and continue standing, boasting who they are. I think not!!

When we approach the Lord we recognize that we can not do anything for ourselves. That really before God we are nothing and nothing we have. From there, God begins to work in us. And the consequence of this? We are fortunate, blessed because we will inherit the Kingdom of heaven.

Only God can change our way of living. The first step is to recognize who we are.

The example for us of humility is Christ himself. Would you accept being placed below what it really is? If I had all the power in the universe, if I were the most powerful person in the world, would I agree to say that you have a demon? Or would he be a simple nazareth carpenter?

Would not you defend its integrity when it was put into play and you did not do anything wrong?

When they hit your face saying prophesy who hit you, did you stay still?

He is not the servant greater than his master. Do we really understand what it is to be a Christian? Really practice what we preach so much?

We can only grow spiritually when we recognize this. We can only be used by God if we are humble in spirit. And this only comes before a relationship with Him, the closer to Him we will see this. But we may want to get away because we do not want to meet such a harsh reality, but continue to flower pretending to ourselves that everything is fine when it is not there. But when we find situations in which the ground opens under us, when we perceive that we are not in control and that there is no one to run for, because the owner of the situation is no longer there, we lose hope. But Jesus says that the one who recognizes that he does not have, but surrenders himself to the OWNER of the UNIVERSE, he is fortunate. He who knows that he is nothing but lives for the BIG I AM, he will inherit the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are the humble in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Thank you for sharing @tnrb with us your interpretation about this bliss, Moses was a clear example of a poor man of spirit, he said to God: if your presence does not go with me, do not take us out of here. In another word I was recognizing that without God I could not continue.

Hi @tnrb, I'm @checky ! While checking the mentions made in this post I noticed that @darlenys doesn't exist on Steem. Did you mean to write @darlenys01 ?

I consider your teaching, another of the good interpretations of the poor in spirit, thank you for contributing in the campaign of the beatitudes.

Excellent message To be poor in spirit is to recognize our absolute dependence on God. We must know that we can not do anything without his Holy Spirit. Blessings
