STEEMCHURCH: Lovers of the Presence of God.

in #steemchurch6 years ago

One of the most wonderful things about being a Christian is being able to experience the presence of God in our lives, however, and very sadly, many who claim to be the same, and spend their lives attending church and doing everything they have. what to do but never feel God.
God for many is a strange and distant person who speaks and hears about, but can not see it in his presence. They try to maintain a relationship with God as they say, praying and reading his Word but without feeling any emotion in the process.

However, they can not understand that there is only one reason for this and that many of those who call themselves Christians, in reality they are not because it is not enough just to attend the Church, to volunteer, to belong to a group of prayer and be enrolled in whatever activity is present in it, to ensure that someone is a Christian.
There is a price to be a Christian and that is what many do not know or simply do not want to know because it does not suit them, because they are not willing to assume the true responsibility that comes with being one.

  • Repentance brings the presence of God to my life?¿

In many of today's churches, pastors often tell people that in order to be Christians and receive eternal life they only have to invite Jesus to their hearts, and then after making them repeat a meaningless prayer, they are enrolled as Christians. Nothing is further from reality than that. Jesus Christ does not enter into anyone's life unless he repents from the heart of all his sins and is willing to submit his life completely to Him.
Only sincere repentance can bring the presence of God into our lives, allowing the Lord to take the reins of it; the rest is cheap propaganda of many to fill their churches without any qualms and without the slightest fear of having to render an account to God for all those lost souls who were made to believe that they were saved.

But to repent is much more than saying it. The word repentance comes from the Greek word "metanoeo", which means mind change in the opposite direction with respect to something, in this case, it refers to a radical change of our mind with regard to sin.
Repentance is confessing sins, turning 180 degrees and committing oneself to God, beginning a right relationship with Him and definitively leaving sin behind. It is to make the decision to break radically with the bad habits of the past and to start from scratch with the Lord, leading a fruitful life as He himself demands it. It is to subject each area of our life to the Will of God.

esus Christ said it in Luke 14:33 "Therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he possesses can not be my disciple."
Jesus Christ, contrary to what many affirm, confronted people and that is why many did not want to follow him, as in the case of the rich young man (Matthew 19: 16-22) and others mentioned in Luke 9: 57-62.
Does this mean that by following Christ He will take away everything we have? No, simply that when we decide to follow him we must put everything we have under his authority, relationships, family, work, money, decisions etc. Yes, God wants everything, but God also gives us everything. It's a fair deal, do not you think?

But subjection also implies obedience to his Word and his commands, making him manifest in our lives as expressed in the book of John 14: "If you love me, keep my commandments. He who has my commandments, and keeps them, he is the one who loves me; and he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. " This is more than a promise.
