The Holy Spirit And Fire Of God. 5 Aspects You Should Know

" chapter 1"

  • In the New Testament the Holy Spirit and Fire are reflected, specifically in the book of Matthew.

"I indeed baptize you in water for repentance; but he who comes after me, whose shoes I am not worthy to wear, is more powerful than I; he will baptize you in Holy Spirit and fire."

Matthew 3:11.

  • The reference to the baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire mentioned in Matthew 3:11 has been a subject often discussed and is very controversial. For the disagreements that have developed over the meaning of fire and exactly to whom this promise applies. The statement has been explained in the following ways. Some have shown a direct reference to the Fire mentioned in Acts 2: 3.

and tongues appeared to them, spread out like fire, settling on each one of them.

Acts 2: 3.

1- Holy Spirit and Fire of God

It is said that the Fire in this passage is an image of the cleansing work of the Spirit on people. That it is a figurative description that the Holy Spirit and Fire consume the weaknesses of people. To put it in a positive way, when speaking of Fire, it refers to the lighter and sanctifier of the Holy Spirit.

It should be noted that another point of view is that Fire is an experience that accompanies the Holy Spirit when it comes to the life of a person. And it is shown when people experience a feeling of happiness and full of joy, this feeling accompanies the Holy Spirit as the body that experiences it accelerates.

When mention is made of a single baptism, a baptism in the Spirit and in Fire is only added to give a description of the nature of the work of the Holy Spirit of God. This experience could be compared to a current of electricity entering through the body when a person comes into contact with a cable that is lightly charged.

The person in most cases quickly shakes his body but without feeling painful, it is rather a pleasant feeling that causes an inexplicable happiness and joy. The whole body is moved just like the hands, sometimes the two feet in the holy experience. This is experienced only by those who truly believe in the power of God, of the Holy Spirit and Fire.

2- At first the Fire was only in Jesus

The Holy Spirit and Fire was distributed to each one of us, believing in the existence and power of the Holy Spirit of God.

In this time we must seek that that power of the Holy Spirit and Fire be revealed and given to our life. This must be the longing of who has received Jesus Christ as personal savior. And in this way we can resist the different and incredible tests that we go through. Jesus Christ has promised us that he will be with us every day until the end of this world.

"and behold, I am with you every day, until the end of the world"

  • Matthew 28:20.

In that way he promised the believers to give exactly what we need to say in the situations we face. It is time for us to obtain that power so we can serve God in the midst of coming situations.

3 - The baptism of the Holy Spirit and Fire

John the Baptist announced that Jesus would baptize his followers with the Holy Spirit. Just before the Lord ascended into heaven, Jesus promised the disciples that soon the power of the Holy Spirit would be upon them.

Of course, that happened in Acts 2, when the Spirit descended in the form of tongues of fire that rested on each one of the disciples; When they opened their mouths they began to glorify God in tongues unknown to them, but they understood those outside the upper room who had come to celebrate the Feast of Pentecost.

The experience of miraculous power through the disciples of Jesus raised an audience. And so they were moved by the Spirit to begin to preach the powerful message of salvation. Although the message was extemporaneous, it broke with the resistance of thousands of religious Jews. On the same day 3,000 repented and trusted Jesus as their Savior. The impact of the Holy Spirit caused the Church to explode in existence.

In the book to Ephesians 5:18 he exhorts us to be filled with the Spirit. If we really want our hearts to be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit and Fire we must nourish the communion with Jesus Christ.

In fact, the same word tells us that "If anyone is thirsty, come to me and drink" because those who believe in Jesus Christ will see rivers of living water flowing from within them. He talked about the Spirit. When you reach that point of spiritual thirst, your whole being just cries out to God to fill you with himself. If you want the gift of the Holy Spirit and Fire in your life and truly thirst for him, he will baptize you with his Spirit.

4 - Jesus Christ is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit and Fire

Each person to genuinely repent of their sins and with a close relationship with God will be baptized in the Holy Spirit and Fire. Repentance is one of the steps you must take before receiving Baptism with the Holy Spirit and Fire.

Repentance involves changing your opinion about sins and seeing it as the Lord does. Since a single oversight may sin take control of your life. If you are full of yourself, you can not be filled with the power of God's Holy Spirit and Fire. He needs you to be an empty vessel.

The Holy Spirit and Fire that works in us makes us a witness for others. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit and Fire we are reserved for the use of God. And He wants to use us to stop other people's attention, because we are obviously different from others.

That difference is Jesus Christ alive in our life and the power of the Holy Spirit and Fire of God. We can not be used by God without close communion with Him. If we have not yet heard His voice speaking directly to our heart and life, you are not in communion with Him. The voice of God changes and transforms us into living witnesses of JESUS. .

What a privilege it is to be used by God to draw the attention of another person. And then see them impacted and changed by the Holy Spirit and Fire of God that works through us. We must consider that there is always someone waiting to see our testimony to understand the power of God and accept it.

5 - Importance of receiving the Holy Spirit and Fire

Jesus taught his disciples the importance of receiving the Holy Spirit and Fire of God. Because through the Holy Spirit we would be witnesses from his life in Jerusalem to the ends of the earth. Nothing can stop those who are filled with the Fire of the Holy Spirit. A witness is one who has firsthand evidence of who is witnessing the event.

Repentants have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, the only one who personally baptizes with the Holy Spirit and Fire. From that daily relationship we have something very definite to witness to others. It is necessary to show the world the evidence of Jesus alive in us and to tell them of his love for them.

  • That symbolizes Fire:

Keep in mind that fire is a symbol of the Holy Spirit. Any work that the Holy Spirit does must be based on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. The Holy Spirit came when Jesus was crucified and resurrected from the dead. The work that the Holy Spirit does, does in those who are repented and washed by the Blood of Jesus Christ.

This fire symbolizes the Holy Spirit, no doubt, by what he does. The fire burns the slag, purifies, gives light and gives warmth. The fire falls on us as it did on Elijah's day! The people who listen to us have burning hearts, by the word of God. We must long to be baptized with the Holy Spirit and fire so that the Word of God burns in our hearts!
